Who did you pick for your confirmation saint? Why did you pick him/her?

Mine is St. Michael because I started to come back to the church while I was in the army and was considering law enforcement as a career at that time.

We did not pick Confirmation saints when I was confirmed.

As an adult, after a profound reversion back to the faith, I have chosen St. Ignatius of Loyola (the Spiritual Exercises changed my life) and St. Mary Magdalen as my patrons.

Mine is St Patrick as I am Half Irish and he is quite inspirational me thinks.

im getting confirmed in about 3 months and have no idea who i am going to have as my saint. lol

I chose St. Joan of Arc when I was about 10 (although I wasn’t confirmed until I was a junior in high school, which was the normal practice at my parish for some reason). Her story was and is compelling, a young woman leading the French army and speaking with saints. Her courage and bravery are so inspiring to me, and things I wish to emulate in my Catholic faith.

I didn’t pick one at confirmation (I’m a convert) but St. Catherine of Siena had been popping up in my life and I have the Nashville Dominicans in my diocese. I’m pretty sure the Holy Spirit was talking to me on this! So, I adopted her as my patroness. I really like her. She’s got chutzpah!

I picked St. Andrew the apostle because my middle name is Andrew.

It wasn’t a very thought out thing, since I didn’t care about my faith at the time. I need to increase my devotion to him regardless.

I picked St. Catherine of Siena. She was such a holy and influential woman of her time. I admired her then and 50+ years later I still do.

My Confirmation saint is St. Therese of Lisieux.

The Carmelite Shrine near my house has some of her relics and a beautiful statue of her that I remember visiting from the time I was a toddler. My mother taught me to ask her intersession by reminding her of her promise to “let fall a shower of roses.”

Once, my grandmother was sick and because she was so frail we weren’t sure if she would survive. This was roughly four years before my Confirmation. I went to the shrine and asked her to ask God to have Grandma get better this time, because we weren’t ready to let her go just yet. I said my prayer, got up, started to walk away, and then turned back around and said “If she gets better, you’ll be my Confirmation saint.”

My Grandma got better.

I chose St. Ambrose because he defended the faith against multiple heresies. I would like to become more like him in being articulate about the faith and standing up to those who slander it.

St. Maximilian Kolbe. He is devoted to Mary, somewhat recent in comparison to some other saints, and his name before he entered the Franciscans was Rajmund- the Polish version of Raymond, my name.

im getting confirmed in about 3 months and have no idea who i am going to have as my saint. lol
read about padre pio

I packed saint catherine laboure, because I saw her uncurrupt body in paris.

I picked two in the end. Cecilia Lydia. The first because I’ve been a musician all my life and the second because she was St. Paul’s first convert and I’m a convert. In the end the Deacon taking RCIA said it would be OK.

I picked St. Ann, Mary’s mother. I was 12 years old. I’m 53 years old now, I don’t remember why I picked her, but my mother also gave me her name as my middle name at birth, so I reinforced that choice, but perhaps because it was just easy.

St Robert Bellarmine. Honestly everything during my conversion to the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church seemed to mention St Robert Bellarmine, doctor of the Church.
