Just wondering if there is a color that girls are “supposed to” wear for confirmation dresses? White? Red? Is any color okay?
(thanks in advance.)

Black skirt and a white long-sleeved blouse , a white ribbon in the hair is O.K.

Boys - black pants and a white longsleeved shirt.

Ask your confirmation leader if there is any custom in your parish. In ours we only had confirmation once every 4-5 years, and as I recall there was no dress code.

In our parish it is how much, not what color. Shoulders, midriff, and knees are to be covered. The sisters all wear sweaters and will provide one to the wearer of inappropriately cut clothing. The threat has always sufficed.

In our church the Confirmandi kneel on the top step of the altar so adequate length of skirt is important. Since you are close to the bishop at the time of anointing and adequately high neckline is appropriate.

It probably would be well to avoid flamboyant colors - hot pink, international orange, flaming red - that set you off from the group. One should be a part of the community.

modest. since parents are no longer teaching their daughters what this means, you will have to listen to this grandmother. this is a sacrament not a prom, and certainly not a fashion show, or trolling for guys. a dress to the knees or slightly below, cut properly in your actual dress size, and from a fabric that is not sheer and does not cling. sleeves any length but the shoulders must be covered. no cleavage. proper foundation garments, which do not reveal their color or style to the casual observer. shoes, closed toes, with stockings or pantihose. you should be able to walk in them without wobbling, shuffling, sliding, or clacking down the aisle like Hans Brinker in his wooden shoes.
