Can someone tell me what the plural of confirmand is so that I use it properly in a worship aid. I was alway taught confirmandi but I have recently seen it at confirmands. Thanks
This is just an anglicanization (sp.?) — basically, an English-i-fication, of a word that is normally Latin in origin. Can someone tell me what the plural of confirmand is so that I use it properly in a worship aid. I was alway taught confirmandi but I have recently seen it at confirmands. Thanks
Yes. It is confirmandi. It’s like aluma (singular) and alumnae (plural), or alumnus (singular) and alumni (plural). This is just an anglicanization (sp.?) — basically, an English-i-fication, of a word that is normally Latin in origin.
Confirmandi is the correct plural.
Confirmands is the English knock-off.
No, the singular is confirmand.Just checking - is the singular, “Confirmand” ? Or is Confirmandi used as plural and singular?
