what exactly does it mean to be confirmed? Is it something that is required? is it ok if you dont get confirmed?

To be confirmed means to have received the sacrament of confirmation. No, it’s not okay to not be confirmed since it means you are not a fully initiated member of the Church and cannot be a sponsor for baptism or confirmation, nor could you seek ordination should that call be present.

confirmation completes your baptism, the two sacraments are so closely linked that you cannot be considered a fully initiated Catholic without both. The reasons why you choose not to ask the bishop for confirmation could be sinful, depending on what they are, full knowledge of the meaning of the sacrament. If you choose not to be confirmed because you are rejecting the faith your parents handed on to you at baptism, that could be sinful depending on the circumstance.

Is not being confirmed considered a sin?
Why do you not want to be confirmed. I can’t wait untill I can be fully accepted by the Church! 😃

What I was told is you will receive the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit, and being confirmed is, and I stand corrected 😉 but you are confirmed as a soldier of Christ.
