Conflicting novena intentions!

i dont know what to do so i am posting it here…

i have placed a prayer intention to Mother Mary to ask her to make sure that my divorce is finalised on the day that it is supposed to be and not get delayed…

for a couple of weeks now, i have felt this incredible urge to do the novena to St. therese… nothing I have ever felt before… its like she is pulling me… and finally today I gave in and started the 5 day novena to her that you get on a prayer card… i asked her what she wanted me to pray for and it seemed to me that she was saying my marriage…

i am just so confused and as i was starting to pray, i felt like I was putting Mother Mary and St therese in a battle… 🙂

anyways, has any of you felt this urge before from st.therese???🤷
 
We all get feelings from time to time that we believe must be direction from heaven, but we can’t really go by such things in making such important decisions as marriage and divorce.

If you have solid reasons for getting a divorce and have talked it over with your priest, I wouldn’t let feelings redirect you. What you are most probably experiencing is cold feet more than heavenly direction.
 
thanks you guys… i guess thats it… i will still go ahead and complete this novena out of respect for St.therese… she is such a wonderful saint

Divorce, as generally understood, are not given in the Church. Do you mean that you believe the “marriage” you are in is actually invalid? The Church also permits civil divorces for the safety and well-being of children and the wife, but divorce and re-marriage, doesn’t happen, unless the “marriage” that took place was false and therefore, there was no marriage to begin with.

I’m just curious to know if that is your situation.
 
i am talking about the civil divorce at the moment…

based on all the stuff that he told me… i do believe that the marriage is not valid but i will have to see what the church has to say about that!!!

thank you so much… i feel really good now… much more upbeat about life and my future… i know God loves me and i know that i tried to live a good life as put forth by God…

thank you della and mommyof4!!! i appreciate all the love and prayers that i have received from this forum from all you wonderful guys…
the only thing that i do regret is that i did not seek out the wisdom and advice of this forum before i got married… i would not have made the mistakes and decisions that i made…
 
Sweetheart, I have made so many mistakes and bad decisions, it’s not funny. And even if this forum would have been around decades ago, I doubt it would have made any difference. I was bound and determined to do it all my way, and no one was going to tell me otherwise. I knew it all, and you could have all kept your opinions to yourselves, thank you very much!

i think i was right where u have mentioned before this whole thing happened but now i know that whatever is given in the bible is for our good… theres a reason why HE told us to do it that way as HE knows what the repercussions are if we dont…
its one thing i will always remember now… HE knows BEST!!!
