Confraternity of Holy Rosary

I joined the Confraternity a few weeks ago and I finally got my certificate in the mail. Can anyone tell me more about the contraternity of the Holy Rosary? Are there any other places like this that I can join that have indulgences and help of prayers from other peoples.

The Militia Immaculata (officially recognized by the church):

It is consecration to Jesus through Mary. You undertake evangelism as you can, daily prayer and wear the Miraculous Medal (official symbol of the Militia Immaculata). It is free to join though they do gladly accept donations to further the cause. It was founded in 1917 by St. Max Kolbe (if you have not read his story it is a terrific witness to faith). I read somewhere that part of the reason it was founded was at the time to combat growing anti Catholicism by groups (such as the Freemasons who were holding anti Catholic rallies in Europe). In any case it was founded for the following:

Marian consecration is a formal act of self-giving that does not stop at Mary, but is Christ-directed. It is really consecration to Jesus. The MI’s mission is “To Lead Every Individual With Mary to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus.”

By joining the MI, members become willing instruments of Our Lady, the woman foreshadowed in Genesis 3:15. She leads them to personal sanctification, the conversion of Church opponents and ultimately the universal reign of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Another one is the World Apostalate of Fatima. Also free to join and officially recognized by the church (one of 11 Public Associations of the Faithful). You agree to prayer, saying the Rosary and wearing the Brown Scapular, etc.

You are welcome. It is wonderful that you are so interested in deepening your spirituality and devotion. That is what all three of those are about (Confraternity of the Most Holy Rosary. the Militia of the Immaculata, and the World Apostalate of Fatima) and you can belong to all of them.

I know that personally my devotions have improved greatly by praying the Rosary and meditating on the Mysteries. That then leads (prepares) me for my further scripture reading and meditation once I am finished the Rosary. It prepares my heart as it were and it is all solid and biblical.
