The Eucharist should not be used as a tool to promote harmony.
We all have a duty to strive for Christian unity, but using the Eucharist as something to enable everyone to feel included certainly does not seem right. Despite our Christian fellowship, there are still deep divisions amongst Christians concerning the nature of the Eucahrist and these divisions cannot be ignored.
Best to speak to your priest in the spirit of charity, but if it doesn’t get resolved bear in mind that this is the Eucharist we’re talking about There is nothing more sacred to us than the Eucharist, and in my mind that is far more important than the wishes of a priest to promote an appearance of Christian unity (which doesn’t exist when it come to the view of the Eucharist).
What you said is very right Brendan…this is a very serious issue that should not be over looked upon, llenadegracia I urge you to organise those your friends that have interest in this issue and try to attend the parish pastoral council(PPC)meeting in your parish to lay your worries about this matter…but if seen after the meeting them, there is no serious outcome, then the attention of the local ordinary(Bishop)must be brought closer to ascertain or invoke his Episcopal Authority on the matter…this matter concerns us all the family…
GOD HELP US AND GRANT US YOUR GREAT LIGHT TO SHINE ON OUR DARKNESS…PAX CHRISTI
