Can lust occur even if you have no sensual thoughts when you witness someone dressed immodestly and your eyes keep acccidentaly going towards them?

That depends on your thoughts. Are you willfully taken in by thoughts as this occurs?

Try your best to look away if you can.

Perhaps you are describing a kind of curiosity, or perhaps the appreciation of beauty. Such thoughts in themselves do not constitute lust. On the other hand, if you look at the other person in order to get some pleasure or thrill, there might be a moral issue. The key, I think, is to respect the dignity of the other person. Thinking of another person as an object for your pleasure falls short of the respect we owe and the dignity we should see in others.

God bless you.

From the Catechism:
2351 Lust is disordered desire for or inordinate enjoyment of sexual pleasure.

Since there were no “sensual thoughts”, there was no lust.
BTW arousal =/ lust.

No. At worst, this is near occasion, but if it’s really involuntary, you have no culpability.

Lust requires actual sexual arousal or a real danger thereof.

And as always, consent is required for any sin.

You cannot keep the birds from flying over your head.

You CAN keep them from making a nest in your hair.

You do not have culpability for accidents.

Its called the first stages of concupiscence.
If you cannot control yourself you have an obligation to walk away to the extent you can control yourself … as context suggests is appropriate.

Please dont split hairs on this but take it to your priest if this discussion is triggering scrupulosity.

Please, it is dangerous to make universals of ones own limited experiences and then apply them to others who may be quite different from you.
