Of course I asked for it. I talked to someone who was a leader in the church and didn’t get much of a response. To be honest with you i have so much to say about how God transformed me through Calvary Chapel that it would take quite a while to write. I do know that I have a love for God’s Word and to be His servant. We no longer follow the family tradition and do our Sunday appearance at church but we honestly enjoy going to our services to learn and serving in our church. You can hear our pastor online through Calvary Houston. Some of the other pastors that I enjoy listening to are David Rosales - Chino Valley Calvary Chapel and Raul Ries - Calvary Chapel Golden Springs. Get back with me and let me know what you think.
God Bless
Quite honestly ppasa316, I’m very happy that you found what you were looking for at Calvary Chapel! But I’m afraid I won’t find anything there new or exciting from what I know now in the Catholic Church. I dind’t find Church exciting at all for about 34 years, and then… WHAM!!! God hit me in the head with a 2 by 4!
I guess I wasn’t paying attention to him all those years.

And believe me, there were times (although not too many) when I really tried to understand. Nothing. For years and years. That’s why I stopped going to Church, until the above happened and all of a sudden - with no prompting on my part - I started understanding Bible passages like I never did before. I couldn’t believe why I didn’t know this stuff… it should have been obvious. But it wasn’t. It was totally out of reach for some reason. Then that 2 by 4!
Oh well, I’m paying attention now. And let me tell you, my own transformation is a miracle, probably like yours. So I guess what I’m getting at is that we all have different triggers. My family, who part lives across the country in the southeast and the other lives in the northeast, came back to the Church too, so it wasn’t just me. All at different times too. I was the last, but we are all back now. It’s wonderful the amount of history and spirituality we’ve learned and I can’t even imagine leaving it now. I’m glad God brought me back. I learn something new practically everyday and to tell you the truth, I can’t wait for each day to learn more. What amazes me most, is that I don’t even have to be doing anything to learn. I just do normal everyday things and for some reason, God lets something “click” in my head. Then later on when I remember, I look it up in my literature (either the Catechism, Bible, or any number of books and/or online references) and lo and behold, it matches pretty much perfectly. I love my faith, and the One who gave it to me.
And I have my own favorite Catholic apologists, as well as scholars, priests, and of course Mother Angelica to thank for even more insights into the faith.
This much I think we all can agree on, though: His love is AWESOME!!!
