I’ve often seen on many moral theology manuals that “moral certainty” is all one can attain in moral human acts. I’m not sure if I understand this correctly since the church teaches that some things like abortion are intrinsically evil and NEVER permissible to do…and it teaches that some things are an absolute good…such as fulfilling your Sunday obligation.
So does this mean that one can’t have absolute certainty that they did the right thing by fulfilling their Sunday obligation instead of skipping Mass?..and can’t be absolutely certain that if they follow through with an abortion, they will be doing something wrong?
