Whae I first came onto this site I have to admit that they were scaring me away from the church but they didn’t get very far! I have just finished RCIA Classes! Every one cheer! 😃 I am now a member of my roman catholic church!

That was awfully quick. RCIA normally takes a year, give or take, and you don’t enter the Church other than on Easter (Catechumens) or Pentecost (Candidates), unless you had been studying the Catholic faith on your own for several years previously.

The first section i have completed, it will beggin again in september!
So, you’re not actually “finished” it, yet, are you? You have probably completed the Inquiry section, and you will be entering the Period of Catechesis. After that, there are two more sections - Enlightenment, and Mystagogia, and then after that, you will be able to call yourself a Catholic.
I filled in a membership form!
You have become a financial contributor to your parish, which is a very good thing, but it doesn’t actually make you Catholic, yet.
Would you comfirm a protestant? I don’t think so! I will be comfrimed next easter, the priest told me!
Yes - and that’s when you’ll be Catholic. Not before that.

No.

Inquiry section completed. Period of catechesis? 🤷

I guess that my priest will tell me just before it happens because I haven’t actually heard of this yet.
and then after that, you will be able to call yourself a Catholic.
This isn’t true because I can go through all of the courses I like but that will not make me catholic.
You have become a financial contributor to your parish, which is a very good thing, but it doesn’t actually make you Catholic, yet.
…obviously not! But it is so nice to finally be back at church after 8 months of not going.
Yes - and that’s when you’ll be Catholic. Not before that.
…by paper but not by heart unless I believe. A priest cannot wave a magic wand and convert me.

This was exactlt what I meant! 😃
It would save a lot of confusion and controversy if you could just say so in the beginning. This is an example of what I meant when I said that it is your expressions that cause problems around here, not your beliefs.

I know this has been addressed, but just in case you missed it, attending a couple RCIA classes and filling out a membership form does not make you a member of theCatholic Church. For that, you must complete RCIA when it starts up again in the Fall, then recieve the Sacraments, probably in the Spring at Easter vigil.
…there are such things as catholic jews? I don’t understand that… I thought that jews rejected christ as God in human form?

Answersplease, some people on this site are very harsh! 😉
Disruptive behavior calls for stern responses. 😃

I recommend Rosalind Moss as a great source on Cathlolic Jews.

Ok, good. No the Catholic Church does not confirm Protestants. However, this is one of the misleading statements that you continue to make. According to the Church, when you entered RCIA you ceased to be a Protestant and became a catechumen. The Church confirms catechumens, and then become members. One can be a member of a parish (filling out a form) without being Catholic.
Everyone! This site has a small amount of very strange ill educated people on it! I have been told soooo many different things! :o
I think this is pretty representative of the population at large. Fr. Corapi says people can be educated into imbecility.
A priest cannot wave a magic wand and convert me.

No, but I suspect the HS has already done this! 😉

My beliefs are the same as yours, but my expressions are some what unique… 😊

So I’m not yet a real member!? Oh well, that wont stop me from attending, they’ll have to kick me out by force! 😃

…stern? I wouldn’t say that you were stern guanophore but you are definately very sharp! 😛

I think that for now I will not look up catholic jews but just stick to catholics! I have too many gaps already!

Being “not yet a member” doesn’t mean that anyone will kick you out. You are still taking your membership classes, and part of the membership classes is that you come to Mass every Sunday, as well as going to the classes. This will go on until Easter time, which is when you will receive your Sacraments of Initiation (also known as, your membership in the Church).

Until then, you don’t receive Holy Communion, yet. 🙂

I love mass.

Why did you put a smily face on that? I do go up on communion though, I get a blessing from my priest. That’s enough for me.

P.S. You said that I went up to take communion even though I was told that I couldn’t? …I was never told that I couldn’t.

I love mass.
Me, too! 🙂

I assume you mean that you join the Communion line, but you don’t receive Holy Communion; you receive a blessing from the priest instead.

 I don’t understand what you are trying to say. I don’t remember saying anything about you receiving Holy Communion, and in any case, you have already said that you don’t receive it; you receive the blessing, instead.

Obviously, someone has explained to you that you receive the blessing right now, instead of Holy Communion, until the time when you will be Initiated into the Church, and then you will receive your First Holy Communion, probably very shortly after you have received the Sacrament of Confirmation.

Ahhh, but why? Just curious.
I’m really rubbish with computers and trying to load up the pictures wasn’t easy for me, so in the end the only one I could manage to reduce in size successfully was this one! 😊 I had picture of arctic foxes, cats, dogs but this one made it! I did get hold of this gorgeous black and white picture of a angel statue with red rose petals falling down her but like I said I just couldn’t get it on the signature thing… I’m quite useless except for typing! 😃

Sorry, i think that i got you confused with some one else! 😛

When a Jew becomes Catholic he accepts Christ as his Messiah and God. He rejects the (usual) Jewish religion, Judaism, which denies Christ. But he remains in the Jewish ethnic group, which is something he was born with and cannot change.
