Yada, I had open heart surgery for CHF & a failed valve in 2004, and am living proof that there are all kinds of things that can be done in this field.
You know that I am praying for your husband, for you, and for wisdom on the part of his doctors!!
God bless you both!!

Thanks Zooey, you are an inspiration - we are not alone in this world and you give me hope:)

They are postponing the surgery until they can relieve the water in his lungs …

The Good News:
No blocked arteries [guess my cooking is not killing him 😉 ]

Fr Bill came and annointed DH this afternoon before the flight - Just seeing him made the heavy load begin to rise [what a gift the sacraments are … and the healing is powerful - Thanks Fr Bill …Thank you Jesus!

We are safely at OHSU [bumpy bad weather air lift for him - and hard pouring rain and hail for my 3 hour drive back]

He is stablized and toloerating the angioplat balloon and balloon pump that is assiting his heart and keeping him stable so they can improve hislung function before operating … they had thought at one time that they would operate tonight …

I cancelled my out of town business conference/meeting …

And I have 1 of 3 bids finished [they all have to go out tomorrow PM]

God is so loving and kind. He is answering your prayers and mine … … Thank you … may God Bless all of you 👍

Well they finally set the time for the valve repair or replacement … preferably repair but if not …replacement …

Thursday @ 8:00 AM … it will last 4 to 5 hours … if you can … please remember to pray for my DH and his caregivers and physicians …

Thankd for all of the support recieved thus far … we appreciate it … your prayers have kept him stable while they worked to clear his lungs of fluid … while his lungs and heart still have more fluid in and around them than they would like … his condition on that front is better … I credit that with the “legions” praying for him … here at CA too many to even know … even in our parish the gift of prayer has exploded exponentially … 👍

We are so blessed, that I am greatful for the blessings we are receiving …they are abundant and I am strenghtened by your :grouphug: online version of the group hug!

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now, and in the hour of our death. Amen.

Yada.

I like the rest of the members on CAF will be praying hard for you and your husband. I had the same surgery done two years ago, and I understand what you both are going through. I’ll a offer a decade of the rosary for him for the next week, and keep you both in my prayers. :gopray2:

I told him [DH] last night that there must be thousands and thousands of people praying for him … He was moved deeply [teary] by the thought and I a not sure that he really believed me … but I know that the CA prayer support group is huge [even those who just read the requests and never post!], plus there are the prayer warriors of four parishes, KBVM catholic radio [88.3 FM] prayer line, one Benedictine Monestary …

Update, he is still in surgery but they say the 'repair; worked YEAH!!!

Have to go …wil write more later

Father, Jesus, Holy Spirit, I pray that you heal Yada’s husband.

Virgen Mary pray for us.
St. Michael Archangel protect us.

DH is still sedated and with a trache tube … 7 hours after they brought him back from the Operating Room…

Some really hard things are transpiring … but they say he is doing good…

I am glad they tell me that * but it is really hard to tell…

It looks like the trache tube will have to stay in over night …

He has so much fluid in lungs and around his heart … they even left the angio balloon and pump to assist …though I am hopeful that they will soon remove that … that has to come out before the trache tube can be taken off [not sure if ‘have to’ is the correct term but that is the order that they will use]

I am so very scared still … while the hardest part is over there is still some danger … 😦

But please know that I have felt the presence of God and been awash with his kindness and care… I am eternally greatful for the journey so far … it seems turbulent but as the old saying goes …“So far; So good”*

“Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Wounds of Our Lord Jesus Christ to heal those of our souls.”
“My Jesus, pardon and mercy, through the merits of Thy Holy Wounds.”

Still praying for your husband, Yada…for a swift recovery…

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

An Update:

Trache Tube is out in the wee hours … balloon pump is out this afternoon … DH still cannot sit until six hours after ballon pump removal [about 6:30 PM friday evening]

His heart is still in shock and operating by pacemaker … this they say is normal and not of concern unless it lasts more than 3 days … then they might have to put in a permanent pace maker but we are hopeful the heart will come back form its holiday.

Thanks for the prayers … he is doing as well as he is because our Lord Jesus has listened to your prayers and is the most generous loving God …

I give Jesus all Praise, Glory and Honor 👍 with thanks and Blessings to all of YOU, as well 🙂

Thanks for you continued prayers for Don and his caregivers … the nurses, technicians and physicians are doing a wonderful job caring for Don and the other patients and we thank God for thier dedication and professionalism…

Sunday Evening in the Pacific NW,

DH received communion this evening from a tired but very nice priest [hospital recently converted to computerized paperless data entry for patients, thus … my DH never ended up on his ‘catholic’ list. Even though we told them on Tuesday night … So the EMHC volunteers who were in the hospital on Wednesday and this morning never came] I had gone to the VA hospital that adjoins for mass this morning … I did not have a pyx or I would have taken care of it … the VA priest did not have one available to loan out and is not allowed to minister to patients in the Hospital where DH is … He did call the parish responible for the this hospital but the EMHC had already left …

When people bash priests … I am always sad as this priest came back from visiting another hospital to the message to trapse out again … and still he came to provide the Body of Christ and words of comfort to us …

God Bless Our Priests!! 👍

The priest that annointed my husband last tuesday before he was life flighted came on his day off …

:gopray: Please Lord send more vocations … and I pray the men hear and answer “Yes, Lord, your servant is listening” :gopray2:

My thanks again for your prayers … My husband is doing well, there are still a few issues and he is not out of the ICU yet … but hopefully soon. Dear Lord, please heal his ❤️ !

Also: The staff work hard and they are very gifted and professional, please continue to pray for them as well…

Praying for your husband’s quick recovery. Praying also for God’s blessings on you and also for your husband’s nurses and doctors.

Also, thank God for our dedicated priests and nuns. When my husband was in the hospital for mental issues, our parish priest or one of the nuns from our children’s Catholic school visited him every day. It helped him so much and gave me peace to know they were there with him during the times when I had to work. Along with you, I also pray for more vocations.

May God bless both you and your husband.

UPDATE

<THANK YOU >>>THANK YOU>>>THANK YOU>

My Dear Hubby is out of ICU … Pace-maker necessity is still up in the air … he is off the temporary one and they are observing him as he increases is walking down the hall which he is able to do some… he is weak but getting stronger…

Funny they still have the leads attached to his heart and throughthe chest - all wrapped up in a coil … ready to be plugged into thetemporary pace maker immediately if necessary 🤷 .

But he is off oxygen, holdin good levels and his heart rate has increased some today 👍

<THANK YOU >>>THANK YOU>>>THANK YOU>

Keeping your DH in prayer, Yada.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now, and in the hour of our death. Amen.
