I just wanted to say “Congratulations!!” to all of you who were brought into full Communion with the Church last night.

Most of you probably partied all night and are still asleep at the time of this writing - at least, in an ideal universe, that’s where you are right now - but I just wanted to have this waiting for you when you get back.

After Confirmation last night as I sat in the pew I finally understood the feeling of “home” that everyone kept talking about. 😃

Thanks! It was a big night for me and my RCIA buddies! I was Confirmed in the Holy Catholic Church and my daugher was Baptised and both my son and daugher had their first Holy Communion! It feels good to be Home!
 
Thanks! I had such an amazing experience last night. I’m still in shock at finally being able to call myself an official “Catholic”. It continued to sink in when I went to mass today and could take part in communion for the second time. As Rawb said, I really felt genuinely welcomed into the Church and a part of the Catholic Christian community. I’m looking forward to continuing my journey in the RCC. God bless!

As a side note, the Easter Vigil service at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Memphis, TN was such a treat. It was about 3.5 hours but was beyond my expectations. The Bishop Steib had such a genuine smile of joy on his face as he climbed into the baptismal font and baptized the Elect. Even though I was already baptized, that part of the night was my favorite. My father and mother also attended the ceremony, neither of which are Catholic. My mother has been to a few Catholic masses and expressed an interest in the RCC, but my father has never been really interested and even though he doesn’t attend Church anymore, he was brought up and raised me in the Presbyterian Church. There is a long history of Presbyterian tradition in our family, so I had no idea how he would react to all the incense and ceremony of a Catholic mass, the Easter Vigil mass no less. Surprisingly, he seemed to have a great time though. It was truly a n amazing experience.

I would also like to add my congratulations to all of those who were baptized and/or confirmed last night! I went to the Easter Vigil mass at our Church last night and I have been in a wonderful mood since then. I am so happy for everyone who has entered into Christ’s Church, and I wish I could personally welcome all of you. Since I can’t though, peace be with you all. I hope that your lives become a testament of the truth and your faith in our risen Lord! Again, congratulations!

I would like to join in CONGRATULATING all RCIA catechumens that received the Sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation. Our church’s Easter Vigil was a 3 hour Mass filled with love energy, joy, gratitude and joy. It was truly glorious.

Last year as I was going into daily Mass a middle aged man was having car trouble and pulled into the church parking lot to tend to his car. I visited with him for a minute and the next morning he was in his car and got out as I was going to the church. He asked if I thought it would be okay if he sat through a Mass and I said he was certainly welcome to do so. So, everyday afterwards he was there and would wait for us regulars to arrive and he would go in with us. We answered his questions and soon after he visited with our priest. Last night he was baptized at the Easter Vigil and had tears his eyes when he came back to sit down after receiving the Eucharist. At the reception afterwards, he cried as he was being congratulated. He said the Lord works in stange ways…a broken belt on his car led him to the Lord and to become a member of the church.

Congratulations to all and welcome…

What a wonderful story!!!
 
It was an amazing mass last night. I was exhausted after a long week at work and having Easter Vigil at 9:00 p.m. just seemed to much. However, after being in R.C.I.A. for a year and searching for much longer than that I wasn’t about to miss it.
I was amazed at how focused I was, and how everything just seemed to come together. It was a very serious and powerful mass that at the same time had some humor in it. Not intentionally mind you, but our baptismal font is set up weird. I was the first one to be baptized and we have this little over flow pipe. When Father starting immersing me the over flow pipe started making gurgling sounds and people thought I was drowning. He did have to explain before the next person got in and we all had a good laugh.

I also want to send a big thank you out to all godparents and sponsors. I know without mine, I wouldn’t have made it this far and am eternally grateful to her.

Last night was the most memorable day of my life. So many of my friends and their families gave me gifts, which was completely unexpected. I even got a Scott Hahn book! My College US Government teacher gave me a prayer book and a glass bead rosary. It was hard to hold back the tears after receiving the Eucharist for the first time, and it was truly the most amazing, and indescribable joy I have ever experienced in all of my 17 years of life. 😃

People I had never met came up to me and hugged me, congratulating me on coming Home at last.

My eyes were actually tearing up last night at our vigil Mass watching two women receive the sacraments of Baptism, First Eucharist and Confirmation, well, only one of them received Baptism. I didn’t even know these women and I was in tears! It was just so beautiful. I cry at all the children’s First Communions too. My kids look at me like, mom, you don’t even know them, but I just can’t help it, I’m just so happy for them all 🙂

I entered the Church in 1989 with my mother, my little brother, and a cousin. It was the best decision I ever made in my life. Ever since then, I have attended the Easter Vigil to share in the joy of others who are entering the Church for the first time and receiving Our Lord in Holy Communion. Last year, I had the privilege and honor of giving my mother Viaticum after our priest had given her the Apostolic Pardon and Anointing of the Sick. It was the last food she ate in this life, and I pray that I may one day have that same grace to die with the Sacraments. Three weeks later I was accepted into the seminary, which gave me a tremendous insight into that beautiful truth of the Communion of Saints.
 
My church hasn’t had Confirmation yet this year, actually. It’s on May 5…
 
There was a couple who seemed to be in RCIA just because the woman’s mother was very involved in the church. They never seemed that interested to be there. They had a son and the husband wasn’t Catholic. Last night, after the man came up from being baptised his eyes were red and watery. His baby son was baptised, and he started crying as he kissed his son’s head.

I thought you’d all like to hear about my lesson in making judgements about others. I meant to tell y’all about it earlier.
