CONGRATULATIONS all new Catholics! :-)

Congratulations to everyone that entered the Church this weekend! 🙂 I became Catholic just a few years ago, the joy definitely sticks with you! Several of the posters have said they finally felt like they were home…that is the best way to put it!

Last year as I was going into daily Mass a middle aged man was having car trouble and pulled into the church parking lot to tend to his car. I visited with him for a minute and the next morning he was in his car and got out as I was going to the church. He asked if I thought it would be okay if he sat through a Mass and I said he was certainly welcome to do so. So, everyday afterwards he was there and would wait for us regulars to arrive and he would go in with us. We answered his questions and soon after he visited with our priest. Last night he was baptized at the Easter Vigil and had tears his eyes when he came back to sit down after receiving the Eucharist. At the reception afterwards, he cried as he was being congratulated. He said the Lord works in stange ways…a broken belt on his car led him to the Lord and to become a member of the church.

This story brought tears to my eyes. It reminds me also that everyone has a story. Everyone has their journey and their reasons for entering the Church. I like to imagine their stories as they walk up the aisle. Thanks for the confirmation that these stories really happen.

I read all these last night and just sat and cried the most happy and grateful tears. Happy for those who were received, and grateful for this beautiful and amazing Faith our God has given us.

Thanks so much!! I never knew how beautiful all this was. My husband started this journey last year about this time. He began questioning our Protestant faith and researching the Catholic faith. When he came to me last July and said he wanted to become a Catholic (our story is simular to Scott Hahn) I was taken aback, shocked and didn’t know if he had lost his mind. He called the local Catholic church and found out about RCIA. We attended and even met with the Reg. Ed. Director on nights separatley. I had A LOT of questions! My husband was convicted and wanted to be Comfirmed asap. He was confirmed in September. I waited until this weekend along with our 5 year old. He was baptized and I was confirmed. It was so wonderful! A very loving celebration. I feel like we are a whole family now. Even on this forum it is nice to see everyone so happy for one entering the church. Thank again!

My wife and I were confirmed and received the Eucharist for the first time at the Easter Vigil Saturday. I got into bed about midnight. I think I woke up every hour and could smell the aroma of balsam on my forehead. I then relived the entire thing. Needless to say I was a tired but happy puppy Sunday morning. Especially when we hit the 8:00 AM Mass Sunday morning with our other RCIA buddies. I know Saturday night counted for our Sunday obligation but we didn’t want to miss a thing!!
Oh yeah, Sunday morning my wife washed her face and put her makeup on without touching the center of her forehead. She wanted to keep that wonderful aroma for as long as possible.

Thanks! It was seriously the best day of my life and I’m still really excited about it! Today I went to mass at noon and was actually able to receive the Body of Christ 👍 👍 😃
 
Hello, I’m back on-line.

Not going to spend too much time here, though.

I just wanted to say, I agree with everyone here. April 7, 2007 was the most important, and the happiest, day of my life. I have a long piece of writing about it that I may or may not post later (I have to read it and decide what to do with it).

Just thought I would throw in my "Welcome Home"s to everyone!

I served the vigil Mass, it was about three hours at the Cathedral here. I really filled me with joy to see a few of the people weeping before they got baptized. It is such a beautiful experience.
 
My husband came into the Church Saturday. My 8 year old son will be making his first communion May 5th. This has been a good year for all of us!!

I am extremely happy to have made the journey to Catholicism. I was already baptised, but watching others being baptised was still a moving experience.

Of course the Eucharist as the body and blood of Christ is almost difficult to put into words.

I also loved the Litany of the Saints, which was sung just before the baptism.
