Toasted, not toastyYay for slightly toasty!!!
(what’s a groom’s dinner? are you talking the rehearsal dinner?)
Isn’t that the truth?Toasted, not toasty
Groom’s dinner is the same thing as the rehearsal dinner. We almost didn’t have a rehearsal (fortunately we did). Once the big day was that close, though, I was pretty much coasting and trying to keep the both of us from flipping right out – everything was set up, it was everybody else’s turn to tell us where to go.
You look great in this one too!The official photos haven’t come in yet – should be any day now though. I have a few my grandmother took at the groom’s dinner (most of them turned out blurry – what can I say, our families know how to throw down in a very genteel fashion).
Anyway, here’s us, all stressed out, sloppy, and slightly toasted:
We looked much better the next day, I promise!![]()
Its good that you have a sense of humor about the bathroom LIfe tends to throw such scenarios at us just when we are getting comfortable.Mirdath is indeed a marvelously supportive spouse! Almost beyond belief! We recently found a real family doctor though (three of them sharing an office, in fact, all internal med specialists, one a DO - great for prevention and less-invasive procedures, one an OBGYN - maybe we really can have kids, whoohoo! and lastly, best of all, one who’s also a rheumatologist. And they’re only 5 minutes away, even. So far, it’s been helping - they put me on plain ol’ Valium since I do rather poorly on most of the usual muscle relaxants, which oddly doesn’t make me drowsy, but has all but stopped the muscle spasms entirely - I’ve been cleaning like a white tornado!
And it isn’t like Mirdath doesn’t have a few health issues too - bad mitral valve, and serious tendency to panic attacks (the pressure he’s been under lately would do it to anyone, and he’s already a pretty nervous type.) So far, the treatments are working marvelously well, even though our entire bathroom decided to violently explode the other day, right after I’d scrubbed and mopped it too - figures, eh?. No kiddin, it was amazing. Two days with no tub or toilet? Yai. But they got it fixed, and now all’s well.
Now if we can just muddle through the holidays we’re all set. Married life is suiting us very well indeed, and we’re still waaaiiiiiting on those pics, but they’re probably in the box right now, and we’ll post them. It was quite a do! Our families were wonderful, and everything somehow went smooth as silk, even though we did all our own planning (with a little help from my folks - I just couldn’t get it together to get the invites printed, but she came through like a champ. I should post one of those too, they’re pretty classy!)
Joy to you all!

Nope – we knew each other for years before I started posting here. We did meet online, though, hanging around the same boards and chatrooms, hit it off as friends in real life, then finally figured out it was a little more (okay, a lot more) than that. We were about the last people to figure it out tooCongratulations–how awesome that you ‘met’ on here?? Is that right??![]()
