I used to really hate labels like Republican, Democrat, liberal, conservative, etc. because I didn’t feel that I was defined by any of them. But the more I read about the abortion controversy the more I have had to admit that it seems that the Democratic Party (and liberals) do tend to fight for pro-abortion “rights” while the Republican Party (and conservatives) tend to fight for pro-life issues.
I guess when it comes to abortion I am definitely conservative. I just can’t understand why the President is using his office to threaten state lawmakers who are validly protecting states’ rights and restricting abortion. It’s like PP is his pet project. And I can’t figure out why.
But I will be very interested in finding out the results of this audit. I subscribe to LifeNews and get a summary daily.
PP opened a new “clinic” in my little town of 9,000 people. Now they have a sign in their office window; something about “Stand with Us!!” - there’s more than that but I can’t safely read it while driving. When I first saw the sign that read “Planned Parenthood” I just sat there for the longest time and wondered how this evil had penetrated into my town which has always seemed to be at least ten years behind the times with low crime, people leaving their doors unlocked, etc. We just didn’t have things like PP! It’s like a cancer.
PP claims they provide needed health services for women and that if they close those services will not be available. I am under-insured, desperately. I needed those health services but couldn’t afford to pay for them. I found a program in my town that paid for the exam, pap smear, and mammogram. I didn’t have to pay one cent. And it had nothing to do with PP but was paid for by a county grant. The services are there. All PP does is refer and they get federal money for that? Why? Why not just fund the clinics directly?
There’s just something really dirty about PP that isn’t covered very well and I think it’s being uncovered. I won’t be happy until every last PP clinic has been razed or converted into something else that has nothing to do with abortions.
Please excuse my wordy rant and my going off-topic.
