Congress to Vote on Pro-Embryonic Stem Cell Research Bill Later This Month

Washington, DC – Members of Congress are expected to vote later this month on legislation that would force taxpayer funding of embryonic stem cell research. The bill is a response to a judge’s decision saying the executive order President Barack Obama issued to mandate funding violates a federal law.

Given the make up of Congress, such a bill will probably pass. Another victory courtesy of Catholic Democrats.

I’d be amazed if the Senate moved on this before the elections, and after the elections I’d be amazed if anything got done for the rest of the year.

And in January the Republicans are going to have control or near-control of the House at 47 seats in the Senate, which is a much better position to be in in the fight against human harvesting.

I would be surprised to see them vote on it too. I imagine Claire McCaskill will be hiding under a rock somewhere if they do. Like to see her forced to vote, though. 👍
