This article on the National “Catholic” Reporter’s official support for an excommunicated, defrocked priest, and the ordination of women seems to open up an interesting perspective:

National Catholic Reporter Officially Embraces Heresy

My question is … Since there does seem to be a strange mutuality in support between supporters of homosexuality and women’s ordination, is there a possible metaphysical or mystical reason for this apparent conjunction?

My only comment would be that there is absolutely a demonic connection between homosexuality and feminism. They both seek to destroy the Church of Christ on earth because the devil is the true leader of both movements. It is no coincidence that the homosexuality cases within the priesthood, the feminist pressure for allowing women priests, and the surge in abortions and contraceptives are all taking place now. We need to heed the words of the Blessed Virgin when She advised us to pray the rosary every day.

The problem here is today we tend to see equality as homogeneity. We can only be equal if we are allowed to do the same exact thing as everyone else. That is false logic on so many levels. For one thing this would imply that anyone who has achieved something you cannot achieve for whatever reason is more superior to you even though you are allowed to pursue whatever that is.

The other is that the priesthood is understood only as a power or authority, or a job. It is not simply that. The Church was created with an order, as the body of Christ it functions the same way as any body we know. Your lungs cannot pump blood like your heart, your stomach cannot think like your brain. But every organ is of equal importance, equal dignity. So a woman cannot be a priest not because of sexism or degrading them, it is just the natural order of things as instituted by Christ. God is a God of order, and He set this order for a reason. This is not about subjugating women, priests aren’t dictators.

AMEN!!! Well said!

It would sure seem to explain why National Catholic Reporter is a supporter of both … which then begs the question: Why is National Catholic Reporter allowed so much access to the USCCB?

Yes.

They both are efforts to undermine the roles and complementarity God designed for women and men. Gender differences are not a social construct, it is part of the plan.

People who don’t like this look to undermine it.

God Bless

Am I missing something - nowhere in the articles cited was homosexuality mentioned. So how can the OP assert that there is a tie up between supporting homosexuality and ordination of women. IMHO, Roy Bourgeois is plain wrong in his support of women priests -but correct in other areas such as his critisism of US foreign policy in Latin America.

Some 30 years ago Fr. Enrique T. Rueda also noted this odd-seeming liaison and he couldn’t explain it either. On page 331 of The Homosexual Network - Private Lives and Public Policy he wrote:
The evidence that there is a strong relationship between the movement to ordain women to the Catholic priesthood and the homosexual movement is obvious from the overlap between the Catholic homosexual network (the Catholic Coalition for Gay Civil Rights, of which more will be said later) and [the Women’s Ordination Conference]. A comparison between the membership in WOC as of September 1977 and the current membership in the Catholic homosexual network reveals that fifteen percent of the members of WOC are also members of the homosexual organization. (Our analysis included a sample of members of WOC in eight States and the District of Columbia.)
Twenty-seven percent of the individuals whose names appeared in the Proceedings of the Second Conference on the Ordination of Roman Catholic Women which took place on November 1978 are also members of the Catholic homosexual network.
The leadership of the Women’s ordination movement is closely connected with the homosexual movement. Thirty-three percent of the membership of the task force charged with organizing the 1978 conference of WOC are members of the Catholic homosexual network. The proportions for the WOC Advisory Board and the WOC Core Commission for 1979-1980 are even higher (fifty-seven and sixty-seven percent respectively.) It is obvious that in terms of number of participants, increasing involvement in WOC correlates strongly with increasing involvement in the Catholic homosexual network.
It is difficult to imagine a logical relationship between the desire to engage in sexual intercourse with persons of one’s own sex—for either males or females—and the question of the acceptance of females as part of the Roman Catholic clergy, unless all should be linked under the umbrella of “social justice.” This could hardly be the case, however, since consistency would demand that practically every other issue be included as a suitable subject for adoption by both WOC and the Catholic homosexual movement acting in unison. Of course, as a matter of fact, this is not the case.
This connection mystified Fr. Rueda in 1982 and it’s still unexplained today.

I would question any direct connection between those who support women’s ordination and those who support homosexuality. Within the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, there are those who support one but are totally against the other. It is even the case that female pastors are split on the issue of whether or not homosexuals should be ordained or have the right to marry in the church.

From my own perspective, I favor the ordination of women but I will never, ever accept that homosexuality is a gift from God, much less pleasing to God nor that practicing homosexuals should be ordained. The actions taken by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) in 2009 are, in my opinion, absolutely wrong.

Just a couple of thought from one who has been in the middle of the fray.

Yes. Essentially it is the belief that all natural arrangements are intrinsically meaningless, that the world has no innate value, and the only source of value are those subjective valuations of things we project. Therefore restrictions on who can do what when it comes to matters of sex or sexuality are experienced as the unjust and arbitrary impositions of a vast and elaborate conspiracy (“oppressive power structures”).
