There is an '01 Deville DHS (the absolute top of the Cadillac luxury line that year) siting in my driveway right ow waiting for the scrapper My daughter wanted it and found an Eldorado Touring Coupe (what I really wanted!) so that she could by the DHS from me–and then heat-killed it. For crying out loud, tell Daddy the first time the heat warning comes up, or the temp gauge leaves straight out. We’re talking about the Northstar engine, which is specced to go 50 miles in the desert with no coolant. She’s the only case I’ve ever heard of heat-killing a northstar without head gasket failure. And the car just isn’t worth both an expensive paint job (the bottom layer of the tricot, Crimson Pearl, is oxidized) and engine work. * sniff *
