Consecrated myself to Jesus through Mary today (St Louis de Monfort's formula). Anyone else?

Hi all!

I consecrated myself today. It was a great experience and I’m now going to have to get used to entrusting all to Mary. Saying the words of consecration sent shivers down my spine and I know that, from now on, I am Mary’s property.

Totus Tuus!

Did anyone else do the same today? Please share your experiences!
 
Wow! What a coincidence!

I just completed a cycle of renewal of my own Consecration to Jesus Thru Mary. I renew mine several times a year and did so for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. I like to renew often because it recharges my spiritual battery to do so.

After most of my life living w/o the awareness OR need for Mary, I can safely say
that by NOW, I am safe in the Arms of Jesus THRU Mary! I did not come to this
conclusion by following Louis De Montfort or Maximallian Kolbe. You see, I married
a Catholic, and altho she joined my Baptist faith, even getting baptised so that she
could marry me, she still held MARY in high honor and prayed the Rosary EVERY DAY,
I was a COMMITTED Christian, but there were sins in my life that I COULDN"T shake!!
All that changed when I finally accepted the Catholic faith and started attending Mass
and my wife taught me to say the Rosary. I am now close to God, THANKS TO Mary’s
intercessions!!!
 
It was a year ago for my husband and me - We made our Consecration on December 12th. We took the course by Father Michael Gaetly - it was WONDERFUL!

I want to do this, but it kind of scares me, because it makes me fear that I am treating her as if she were God. I know this isn’t really the case, but I can’t shake the feeling. I guess it’s also a lack of trust on my part. I feel as I can’t completely trust Mary, as I can trust Jesus. Would you all pray that I will have the courage and strength and humility to overcome such fears, and submit to Jesus totally by submitting to His mother, by consecrating myself to her?

How do you go about doing the consecration? Does a priest have to be there?

Hello Gloria Jean.

Who is Father Michael Gaetly? I don’t know of him. The only schedual of cycles I have is listed in the Total Consecration book. It doesn’t have a cycle ending on the 12th. It his something different?

After our EF Mass for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception today, 6 people made their Consecration to Jesus through Mary using the method of St. Louis de Montfort. Our chaplain also enrolled them in the brown scapular. He also did it for a larger group, including me, back in September on the Feast of Our Lady’s Nativity. That group also made their Consecration at that time.
 
Yes, I did today also:) But I used the book 33 Days to Morning Glory by Michael E. Gaitley, MIC.

About eighteen or so people are making our consecration tomorrow. We used Fr. Gaitley’s book.
 
Isn’t his books and videos wonderful!!! So meaningful, we’re so glad they were offered in our Parish last winter. It was truly a blessing. We also did his course on “Consoling the Heart of Jesus” with videos.

My husband sells Lighthouse Catholic Media - he started with selling the Kiosk to our own parish! So far he sold to 21 parishes.

December 12=Our Lady of Guadalupe–another Marian feast day, which became a feast day in 1754. St Louis de Montfort died in 1716—he didn’t know about this feast day.

19 consecrated today at my parish. We used Father Michael Gaitley, 33 Days to Morning Glory.

Consoling the Heart of Jesus for Lent.
 
Praise God in His Saints! I just got back from Mass where we celebrated the Feast today. It was really nice and I was much consoled. We have a young Priest. He gave us all three of the Blessings at the end of Mass that are in the book! Very sweet of him. Thank you dear Jesus. Thank you, my dear Mother.

Thanks everyone. Now I know who Father Gaitely is. 🙂

May everyone here have a Holy Feast day and may the Hearts of Jesus and Mary give to all who ask their blessings.
