Consecrated virginity and being a bad Catholic

I went through a big change about two years ago… Try and take each day as it comes and think about the day…how can I do the will of God, can I help someone or smile at someone or even pray for people and the world. Our eyes can always fall on the blessed Virgin Mary and learn from her obedience and peace.

I suggest your next step be discernment with a vocations or spiritual director in your diocese.
I am getting that impression, yes - although it may be best to see which diocese I end up in first.

The vocation director would have to be for the proper diocese, but it wouldn’t affect your spiritual director as long as the person is within driving distance. Finding a good director often takes time and effort, so starting on that quest might be prudent.

I’m mostly putting it off right now because my schedule is an utter pain and it won’t be such a pain in six months. Finding a chance to meet with anyone at all when you aren’t available until after 9pm except on Sundays tends to result in a gigantic headache for all parties and a lot of what could be otherwise useful relationships not really working.

In the meantime I think I’m going to be taking advantage of the fact that there’s a ton of shrines around here and I actually own a car and go touring.

Work can be a prayer if you do it for God. Aspirations are also useful for staying a bit recollected throughout the day.

Found it, thanks! I find it easier to concentrate on my lunch break if I’m walking a bit, so something to listen to is always nice. And it lets me download so I’m not eating up my data.

For all people talk about technology, I love having one device that has my prayers and any religious readings and anything else on it.

Managed to spend this Sunday actually mostly focused on religious activities. I forgot how nice it is - it’s only been a few weeks since I’ve been able to consistently have sundays off.

Will have to work on that moving forward.
