Consecrating Something to the Blessed Virgin

How does one go about doing it? I assume just by saying that “Holy Mother, I consecrate this to you”; for example a family member or a relationship. I’m well aware of Montfort’s total consecration to Mary, but that is obviously not what I am looking for.

Is there such a devotion existing?

This is something I’ve tried to do recently.

Every little action, even if it’s just picking up a piece of paper off the floor, I’ve consecrated it to the Blessed Virgin. Telling her to take the grace for that action and use it as she wants.

Just give everything to Our Blessed Mother. She’s so wonderful. When she presents your gifts to the Lord, they are so pure and holy.

Our Lord will not be outdone in generosity. Great graces He will give.

Thanks. I often like praying throughout the day, and if ever I find something difficult or annoying, offering that up to the Lord makes it beautiful though trying. However, doing this through Mary I have never done.

For me though, I like to do things formally…Or they never get done! This is how I am, both in every-day life, and with regards spiritual development.

If there is some promise with routine to follow, I’d be glad to take part in such a devotion. Of course, I could always concoct my own private devotion, say, praying the rosary once per day after the Divine Office, or finding a place to take part in the Akathist hymn once per month (if that is possible?) for this particular love of mine which I am consecrating to the Holy Theotokos.

I think I’ll do just that. I’ll consult a priest of course, and perhaps my soon-to-be spiritual director can recommend something appropriate and respectable for this intention of mine.
