If the words of the consecration are changed to “friends” as opposed to “disciples” is the Mass / Eucharist still valid?

“He took the bread, gave it to his friends and said, This is my body, …”

I believe one of the Eucharistic prayers for reconcilation contains the words friends instead of disciples. If it was from that Eucharistic prayer, there would be no problem with it. If the word disciples was changed to friends in the Eucharistic prayer, I believe it would be illicit, but valid, unless the words of consecration were changed(This is My Body, This is My Blood), which would make it invalid. I could not find a text of the Eucharistic prayers for reconcilation so if anyone has the text, please post it. thanks.

I just checked my Sunday Missal and all them had disciples for the Bread part. However, the Eucharistic Prayer for Masses of Reconciliation I, did have “friends” for the Wine part.

So, if it was a standard, Sunday Mass, rather than a Mass for reconciliation, where does this leave things?

Thanks for your assistance,

The celebrant is free to us any of the approve Eucharistic Prayers for Mass. We have used the Masses for Reconciliation at times when there was a need in the parish or the country for reconciliation. BTW in English we use the word friend for anyone from a best friend to an aquaintance. In Biblical times you would not call anyone a friend unless you were in covenant with them and willing to give up of your finances or your life if neccessary for them/

One parish I use to belong to would frequently use the Eucharistic Praysers for Reconciliation if the readings were about forgiveness and reconciliation (i.e. The Prodical Son).

I believe that there are more Eucharistic Prayers included in the Sacramentary than are included in the missalette or in a missal. Some of them do use “friends,” including some for use in Masses for children.
