At what moment in the Consecration does Our Lord’s Sacrifice on Calvary become present. Before I always assumed that this just happened as soon as the priest consecrated the bread. But I remember reading something on this forum that said the Sacrifice technichly becomes present when the wine is Consecrated because this symbolizes Christ’s Blood being seperated from His Body when He was nailed to the Cross. Which is it?

Actually the Sacrifice of Calvary is the priest offering the Divine Victim (Jesus Christ under the appearance of bread and wine) to the Holy Trinity.

It is not a past event “made present” but a “re - presentation” of the Sacrifice of the Cross in a different manner. It appears to us that the event that happened 2000 years ago is happening again and again as It is offered again and again. This is due to our human senses, time and the fact that everything is one big NOW EVENT to God because He is not limited to time.

At least that is how I have come to understand it.
