Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary

We have done most of the 33 day consecration to Our Lady with our oldest child, some of it with the others, for many months…We cannot get a time together to do it with all of us consistently.
I want to consecrate our entire family this month to Our Lady and not put it off any longer. I feel an urgency to have us consecrated. Do we have to do the entire preparation or can we do the consecration without having said all the prayers? I know the preparation is important and I wish I could say we will do it! but the fact is we have not and I’m tired of feeling guilty about it.😊
I have heard so many beautiful stories of people’s lives after they were consecrated to Our Lady. Any other stories out there?
 
Of course! You can consecrate your family/home/life to Mary anytime. Find a priest to help you and to consecrate your home. The prayers are good and help deepen your love for your Mother and your knowledge of her and of being consecrated to her, so continue the prayers as you can for that purpose. Don’t see them as a superstitious thing like pushing all the right buttons.

She is your Mother and she is loving you into consecration. Find her heart, to the best of your ability and stay there forever! God bless

If you mean the True Devotion, you must first do the 33 days of prep and then do the consecration on the 34th day. It takes discipline and is not easy.

You can, however, enthrone Mary in your home without any preparation. It is different, and you can also do both.
 
Thanks you two. That’s what I was looking for. I think I will talk to my husband about consecrating our family and then maybe trying to do the readings over the summer. We homeschool so you think we could have done it over the school year! It is so hard though. I will pray about this.
I just want to have the consecration done. Our Blessed Mother is very important in our lives. She has been very intimate with our family and I feel we need to “belong” to her more so, in this sense. I love her… We will put together some kind of special ceremony and see about a priest to do it with us and where.

In conclusion, Mary is NO mediator or intercessor…she is just a woman. No dead saint or living Pope can mediate for you. Though Catholics claim they are only honoring the dead saints and Mary, the truth of the matter is that they are obsessed with wicked idol worship. This is why the 2nd of the Ten Commandments is missing in their Catechism books. No saint or priest can reconcile your sinful heart to God. The ONLY way to obtain the righteousness of God is in Jesus Christ (2nd Corinthians 5:17). There is only ONE MEDIATOR…Jesus Christ!

Salvation is NOT found in a religion or good works, but in a person…the LORD JESUS CHRIST!

Biblebeliever-(long sigh…) God Bless you; I think I know where your heart is (except for the…yikes…‘viper’ and ‘evil generation’ Scripture. ‘Ouch!’…) I am a convert from a Baptist/Pentecostal background…

Really listen on these posts with an open heart and let the Holy Spirit speak to you. You may be surprised what you will learn about the Catholic faith. I have studied the Church for 15 years (very skeptically at first, I must add), and I am in my last year of a Masters in Theology, which means two years of Scripture study (by Scripture scholars who happened to be a convert and a revert from the Protestant faith!), and I teach Apologetics (w/ Sacred Scripture) and Theology. So you won’t be able to change my mind (or soul, that resonates with the Truth I have been blessed with!!!) I had to convert after 5 years as I took apart each “myth” I had been taught about Catholics. And then I began to learn about Jesus’ Mother! Oh, and then she spoke to me…:love:

I am going to write a paper today on a St. who wrote beautiful homilies on justification and baptismal regeneration years before Luther’s misleading away from what had been taught for 1500 years. If you want to see what the Church was like in the first 200 years following Christ read the Early Church Fathers. You will be astounded to see the Catholic Church! The Eucharist! Baptism in water and the Spirit, Anti abortion! Apostolic succession! Oh and a continuing love and honor of Our Lady. (Martin Luther himself has Our Lady’s assumption into heaven on his gravestone)

I am not going to debate the Church on this thread. (Maybe on others…😃 .) I am going to bring my family more under the mantle of Christ’s beloved Mother’s Immaculate Heart, where His Sacred Heart is entertwined and the love and grace just expands and over flows!!!
 
I don’t think you have to be so strict with the number of days to do the consecration. I plan to renew my consecration on the Feast of the Assumption this year. I want to really take my time with the preparation and not rush through it.

Plus, I think it is traditional to renew/make your consecration on a Marian Feast day.

I got consecrated to Mary when I went to a Militia Immaculata retreat a couple years back. I guess my story is that it was while I was attending another MI retreat the next year when I realized that I was called to the religious life! :nun1:

I did the Consecration to Jesus thru the Hands of Mary (Montfortian) this past Lent and Feast of Annunciation. And frankly I have had constant battles ever since! One thing after another. Health, finances, work…all the mundane stuff—in worse shape than it has been in years and years! But I am not giving in to it. And last Feast of the Ascension (Sunday May 20) I saw my 40 yr old sister baptized by my local priest! Something I never thought I would ever see.
