Does any know of a chapter of Lay Dominicans that are distinctively Orthodox and Conversative, particularly on social issues?

I second Cloisters’ response, as this group is part of the IRL. I think almost any Eastern (St. Joseph) province Dominican group is fairly ‘safe’. This fraternity, however, would be the ‘safest’.

IRL???
Also, how does one go about joining a lay Dominican group?
What are the conditions?

Contact the Dominican church closest to you, and ask how to join. You’re usually directed to be at the next chapter meeting.

HTH.

Blessings,
Cloisters

btw, I found this question on the IRL website. Can anyone explain it to me?

Consider belated vocations?

I’m assuming you found that question on the search tab? If so, it just means that you want to include those who accept belated vocations in your search results. 🙂

What does “belated vocation” mean?
It means a vocation to the priesthood or religious life that came later, or is being answered later than expected. Usually it’s 35 and beyond. 😃

I am so glad you started this thread; you read my mind! My Institute of Christ the King priest put a flier on the Angelic Warfare Confraternity in the back of our church; it is “an official association of the Dominican Order dedicated to the preservation of chastity and the pursuit of truth under the patronage of St. Thomas Aquinas. It finds its inspiration in Thomas’ victory in his battle against sexual temptation as a teenager in the prison tower, and his being girded by the angels with the cord of chastity.” I couldn’t see them supporting anything un-orthodox.
