Thanks to everyone who is praying and who shared words of advice. I will call her today.
Sometimes saying nothing is a horrible sin. She already has a son who is 18 mos. My husband and I would gladly take the current child she is carrying or even our nephew. We would help in any way she needs. We’ve offered her to live with us many times. When she was pregant last time, we set up a room in our home for her and the baby, but she moved into government housing instead. She wants to keep her lifestyle in tact and on the “down low.” Thanks again for prayers for her.
I also had a strange thing happen yesterday with one of my teenage students. I don’t know if this coincidence means anything or not but my student asked for a pass out of class. She had to go take a pill for a procedure she was having done later in the day. I asked her if her mother was coming to get her for the procedure, she said no. She said she was driving herself. I seemed concerned and she said “don’t worry, the pill isn’t anything that will affect my driving-it’s to soften my uterus.” Something about that didn’t sit right with me but I had 25 other students who were needing direction so I wrote the pass. I think this student may have been preparing for an abortion, that is the first step of the RU486, I believe. I work in a public school where it would be risky to address this issue with individual students but it is breaking my heart and I feel guilt for not trying to do something.

By continually showing kindness and support to your sister and by continuing to pray for her one day God will be able to get inside her heart and mind and she will change. You are being a good supportive sister in a very difficult situation,As regards your job situation I also taught in non catholic secondary school a couple of years back.I had to cover an RE lesson one day and hold a debate on abortion! It was very difficult for me not to give my opinions and I was grateful students asked my opinions which gave me the opportunity to give the Christian Catholic perspective.Things escalated to a huge degree as I hadn’t realised a female student in the class had recently had an abortion and her boyfriend were there he tried to head butt me and I was shaken up by the ordeal.I refused however to take further disciplinary action with them (ie them be suspended) as they obviously were emotionally distraught enough. So I understand the situation you are in.God bless you

Our Blessed Lady your prayers are most powerful before all others I ask your intercession for this young lady who may be pregnant and fallen into the wrong life style. We ask you to intercede for the baby she may be carrying Amen

Memorare (Prayer to Our Lady)
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession, was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy, hear and answer me. Amen

My step father called me recently and told me that a friend of my sisters’ told him that my sister is pregnant and considering abortion. Sis has been living a wild lifestyle since high school and she is 26. I don’t know for sure what to do, other than pray. Any advice? My husband says to come right out and ask her but she would just be dishonest about it if she didn’t want us to know. Please pray.

Dear God, please have mercy on jayla221’s sister and especially have mercy on the baby that her sister carries.
Amen.

Abortion is normally wrong, of course, but there are those rare times when it might be the ‘lesser evil’.

Let me share a situation with which I am acquainted.

A woman was told by her doctor that if she became pregnant again she would run the risk of dying, and her new baby, also. As good Catholics, she and her husband carefully followed the approved birth control method, avoiding the temptation to use articifial birth control. It didn't work. She became pregnant again. The doctor reaffirmed his dire prediction, how another baby could mean that she and the baby would die.

Add this other factor. She already had six children, none over 12 years old. Her husband began to urge her to have an early abortion. He spoke out of deep love, of how so many lives would be devastated if she died. A grieving widower, six motherless children, her sorrowful parents, etc. They went to confer with their priest. He insisted that she trust God and warned her that abortion was a grave sin with dire consequences both in this life and the next. They decided against an abortion. She and the baby died. The
father now hates the Catholic Church and he and the children have become active in a Protestant church.
In such a situation, honestly, I think it had to be a decision made by the parents and their doctor. Neither route was a good route, but they had only two choices - to abort or risk death. God is merciful, and unborn babies who die, most of them by miscarriage (by the way), surely live in some sort of paradise. And I’ve often wondered re miscarriages. Is it God’s love that brings about miscarriages to save parents and babies from heavy burdens that come from malformed or otherwise critically handicapped little ones? Just asking.

God guide and bless all those who are confronted with such difficult moral decisions. Meanwhile, Matt. 7:1.
You have no right to bring this up in such a thread of someones. This is a prayer intentions thread, which you didn’t offer. I reported your post.

OP I am praying for you.

DJ was merely expressing an opinion and he did close with a prayer. I believe that in DJ’s heart, he/she is being genuinely compassionate to the difficulties faced in life. As Catholics, we reject abortion as a means of abating suffering since it is so intrinsically wrong.

Think of this as an opportunity to catechize a kind soul. There are a lot of folks Catholics included) who think just like DJ.

I am praying for all of you…

Today I have stood with you beneath the Cross
And felt more certainly than ever before,
That you became our Mother beneath the Cross.
How faithfully an earthly mother strives
To fulfil her dying son’s last wish.
But you were the handmaid of the Lord.
Subduing wholly your own life and being
To the life and being of God incarnate.
You have taken your own to your heart
And with your heart bleeding from bitter sorrow
Have purchased for each one of us new life.
You know us all, our wounds and our defacement.
But you know also the heavenly radiance
In which your Son’s love eternally bathes us.
And so you carefully direct our footsteps.
You find no pain too great to bring us to our goal
So those whom you have chosen for companions,
To stand beside you at the eternal throne
Must stand beside you here beneath the Cross
And with hearts bleeding from bitter sorrow
Purchase heavenly radiance for the precious souls
With whom the Son of God entrusted you,

Praying that the abortions are stopped and the children are protected …

Heavenly Father, only You can smooth over the rough road that lays ahead for this young lady and her family. Thank You Father for, with Your Mighty Hands, performing the miracles so much needed for her and her family. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace.
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
