I am filled with joy that you have found the courage to quote me again! 🙂
, but because he inhabits the Office Christ established.
It is important, however, that we observe the distinction which the Lutheran Confessors made between the office of the pope (papacy) and the individual men who fill that office
the LCMS explicitly teaches that the office of the papacy is anti-to-Christ

I admire your patience in attempting to engage in a constructive discussion.

Thanks for your answers. It wasn’t my intent to start a debate, but you all have given me plenty to think about.

I agree that I will need to speak to my own pastor and our local priest (I have been meeting with a sister who I spoke to at Cum Christo and have been connected to for several years)

In the last 10 minutes, I have typed up a two-page Google Document detailing my questions, struggles and areas of agreement with both church bodies. I hope to use it as a jumping off point in these difficult visits.

In the words of the Sister who I’ve been meeting with, I know that God is calling me to do something. I just don’t know what it is yet.

Best wishes in finding the faith family that suits your calling best.
