Welcome @Mustang. We share a similar background except that I was Baptist. Through the years, I tried to convince Catholics that they were wrong and should be Baptist. I’m glad now they didn’t listen! Talking with a Priest will answer so many of your questions. At my Parish, everyone goes through RCIA. Technically, I didn’t have to but I’m glad I did. It gave me a good and solid foundation of Catholicism and I appreciate that. I still struggle with Mary - not that she isn’t everything the Church says she is, but with the private devotion. My priest told me that is very common with converts. For me, it comes in waves. The more time I spend reading and getting to know Mary, the closer I feel. You’re on the right track and remember - Rome wasn’t built in a day!
