Welcome @Mustang. We share a similar background except that I was Baptist. Through the years, I tried to convince Catholics that they were wrong and should be Baptist. I’m glad now they didn’t listen! Talking with a Priest will answer so many of your questions. At my Parish, everyone goes through RCIA. Technically, I didn’t have to but I’m glad I did. It gave me a good and solid foundation of Catholicism and I appreciate that. I still struggle with Mary - not that she isn’t everything the Church says she is, but with the private devotion. My priest told me that is very common with converts. For me, it comes in waves. The more time I spend reading and getting to know Mary, the closer I feel. You’re on the right track and remember - Rome wasn’t built in a day!

You’ll have the best time 🙂 I also converted from Methodism. God will forgive you everything during confession as long as you are really sorry and then you just need to resolve to turn away from sin. Welcome to the start of an amazing journey !

I’m so glad that you’re considering becoming Catholic!!! What a blessing it is to begin to embrace the true religion!!! 🙂 As an answer to your question, God will forgive you for blasphemy. God is merciful and loving and he will ALWAYS forgive you!!! :)I recommend going the Sacrament of Confession. Ask a priest more about confession and how you can prepare for it. 🙂 The fact that you struggle with praying to Mary is understandable. Many protestants accuse Catholics of “Mary Worship” Catholics don’t worship Mary. We honor her and pray to her because she was very holy and is a good role model for Christians. God doesn’t just allow us to pray to the saints, he ENCOURAGES it!!! Look up “Bible verses that support praying to saints” and see what comes up!!! Also, we know Catholicism is the true religion, because it is the only religion that can trace it’s roots back to Christ. All the protestant denominations were invented by people (Martin Luther, John Calvin, etc…) People can’t invent a religion. That’s God’s job. Who are you going to follow? A person’s religion or God’s? Jesus himself founded the Catholic Faith, whereas a PERSON founded Methodism. I’ll be praying for you!!! 🙂
