Hi,

Humor and making people laugh and giving joy to people are probably my favorite passions. Today the thought came to me of starting a new comedy club. For one, I want to give people events and performances to laugh that are family and youth friendly. A lot of clubs you go to and it is all vulgar, sexually offensive (blue) humor, that turns out is not very funny at all because it causes people to fall into mortal sin. I have done standup comedy at open mics and at college, and it is one of my favorite things in the world to do. There is no better feeling then to know that you made someone’s day by making them laugh when they were previously in a sad miserable mood. I love telling someone a joke and having them say that they have never laughed so hard in their life and thanking me for making their day. I wanted to ask all of you for prayers, that if God wants me to create some sort of family, youth friendly comedy club or group or organization, that He helps me ot go through all the steps and in building a group of comedians and actors, etc. and writing good material and routines, jokes, songs, skits, etc. Also the intercession of St. Philip Neri is requested, as he often used humor to evangelize and spread the good news of Christ.
Thank you and God bless you all. Amen.

The Clown’s Prayer

As I stumble through this life,
help me to create more laughter than tears,
dispense more happiness that gloom,
spread more cheer than despair.
Never let me become so indifferent
That I will fail to see the wonder
in the eyes of a child,
or the twinkle in the eyes of the aged.
Never let me forget that my total effort
is to cheer people, make them happy.
and forget – at least momentarily –
all the unpleasantness in their lives.
and, in my final moment,
may I hear You whisper:
‘When you made My people smile,
you made me smile.’

Amen.

Please take no offense, I think it is a noble goal. I thought this might be an appropriate prayer.

What a refreshing post, I just loved it. May God bless your talent of using humor and making people laugh to brighten their day through the creation of some comedy club of some sort. May God guide you through all of the organizational steps and be with you in the entire process.

St Philip Neri pray with us.
God bless you as well.
Mary.

Praying for your intentions.

If you lived in Ohio, I’d volunteer to be a part of your comedy club!

Praying for your success …

:blessyou:

May St. Lawrence, patron of comedians, intercede for your endeavors. And may your club bring much comedy and happiness to the world.

By the way
*St. Lawrence – a deacon and martyr – earned this title for his quips during his gruesome execution. While he was being roasted alive, he joked, “It is well done. Turn me over!”

I just said a prayer to St. Philip Neri for your intention. God bless you.
