looks up

It says Popular Media, right? 👍

I wrote it, a loud voice of opposition to the Modern Audience and Modern Writers by focusing on a gifted boy with a colorful cast of characters fighting against a fascist-like regime over the worlds of storytelling

The name of the story is called The Lorekeeper

The gist of it is about saving heroes and the realms but I think I should at least center my main character Michael (named after one of the archangels)

Michael is a avid reader and die-hard pop-culture nerd. His parents were murdered when he was a child, before their deaths they left him in care with a friend of the family. A mysterious librarian only known by the name Mr.Wells, who knew the motivation of the killer.

After the bittersweet ending of his favorite and going under constant harassment from school, and cynical ideas such as nihilism talked down on him by his teachers at school, Mike wen’t into a state of depression often told to accept the endings like all other injustice in the world, but after having his student status frozen by his priceable, Michael was told by his caretaker Mr.Wells to write stories taking place in his favorite worlds of storytelling(Oz Wonderland, Metropolis ect) and follow that instead. as he wrote in his journal, he cut his finger revealing his blood once red now a magical swirl of colors. Mr.Wells walking in to see this decided it was time to tell the boy his destiny, and how he could save the stories of all myth, lore, pulp, pop culture and so on, for the fate of all creative arts of storytelling depended on it.

He unlocks Micheal’s memories and he finally knew the truth; Michael is the son of Merlin the Wizard and The Lady of The Lake, and the last of his kind, The Archetypes, founders of The Lorekeepers and The Hierarchy of Lore, a great force dedicated to protecting and ensuring the happy endings of heroes and redeemable villains of all stories.

However, on one dark day in their homeland, the nation known as Avalon, one had turned against all the others and butchered them all including Mike’s parents; Count Quantiant The Loretwister. Leaving him and the Mr.Wells as the only survivors and raised an ‘Hegemony of Tragedy’ which he has subjected the realms of Fantasy, Horror, Science Fiction, Wester, and Noir into. Mr.Wells reveals himself to Michael as the Loremaster. Within the Library is a portal to the Isle of Avalon and its castle, waiting for centuries to be refilled with life, and nation reconstructed. So with answering his call, he recruits various characters from the conquered realms as his Loreknights and Loremaidens, and intends to find new Lorekeepers,Knights, and Maidens to save all of Lore from The Loretwister, his 6 Acolytes who rule each realm in his name, and their armies, the Hegemony’s Hand.

any (name removed by moderator)ut? The characters perhaps?

Uh, the internet is known for stealing anything. I would take your ideas and write them down. Any (name removed by moderator)ut from anonymous anyones could cause you problems down the road. Do your work, get it done. Publish it.

Again, (name removed by moderator)ut from people you don’t know can cause problems.

Exactly right. I have had things ‘lifted’ from my blog which is why I don’t blog much anymore. One written item was lifted, made into plaque and then sold on line. Try to prove it 'though. Do protect you literary writings. Peace.

It’s an intriguing idea, but you need to keep your writing much more simple. For example, in your sentence above that I bolded, I counted seven ideas. One or two per sentence makes it far easier on the reader.

Regarding your protagonist, he should have a character flaw that gets in the way of accomplishing his mission. At the climax of the story, he should overcome this flaw.

I also advise you to keep the amount of characters to a minimum. It’s difficult for the reader to keep many characters straight.

If you want a bit more help, feel free to PM me. In the meantime, if you want, you can check out my writing by clicking on my book covers on Amazon and reading the first few chapters.

I strongly suggest you find an editor. Maybe a teacher or retired teacher who could help you out with spelling, punctuation, grammar. Even the best writer needs someone to double check his writing for errors.

.

As a working fiction editor who’s seen a lot of manuscripts, most don’t fail because of grammar, spelling, etc. I don’t want to discourage any beginning writers but I have yet to hear of a college-level Creative Writing class that isn’t: “Hey man. Just do your own thing.” or “Write what you know.” In fiction, you often have to reference things you don’t know, so research is important. After that, you need to understand:
  1. The opening. It sets the tone, the mood, the atmosphere. It doesn’t matter if it starts out fast, is action-adventure, or it starts out slow and is a little low key. If you don’t get the ‘opening scene’ right - about the first six pages - the reader stops turning the pages.
  2. Pacing. You need to maintain a certain level of interest and/or excitement going throughout. Like a movie, one scene or chapter needs to flow seamlessly into the next and make the reader compelled to follow.
  3. Character development. You have your main characters and secondary characters that help or hinder the main characters or leader of a group, if applicable. Give them enough detail as needed and try to be subtle. A casual mention of anything about a character should be necessary. For example: “Joe served in the military” means his training will come into play much later in the story in some clever “it fits naturally” into the chain of events way.
  4. Watch out for excessive use of adjectives and descriptions of mundane events the average reader doesn’t need to know about or only needs something short and to the point: “His long slog through the muddy field left him a tired looking mess when he arrived.” NOT “The sun glistened off his helmet and sweat poured down his face. His boots making a sucking noise as he pulled them from the mud with each step, his legs aching.” DON’T DO THAT. He walked through a muddy field. The end.
  5. All stories are a problem solving puzzle with interesting and a few unexpected twists and turns. It doesn’t matter if you’re writing romance, war, science fiction and so on, there are problems to solve, questions to answer, clues to figure out. The main character or group has to resolve a personal or bigger problem or set of problems. His goal is to win the girl/stop the bad guy/prevent this or that from happening or prevent the bad guy from stealing/destroying/using the device/weapon/power/influence he wields to prevent you/the group from reaching your goal/saving others and yourself in the process.
  6. Make the characters - good and bad - people the reader either loves or hates. Give them qualities and attitudes the reader can relate to. The bad guy can be a super being or evil corporation or just an abusive or homicidal guy filled with rage over something that may or may not have actually happened.

Sorry to the OP, nothing personal.** It’s just business.**
