Wow, some excellent links here, some of them new, and others not so new to me. Unfortunately, the best one is having some error with their web page, and I’v never seen a better apologetics site yet, it was the best. Thanks for the links. 👍
 
Not a Catholc-run organization as I know, but it has great abortion-debating resources. I haven’t really come across anything contrary to Church teaching, although some of the website has some graphic content(vivid descriptions of abortion).

Just a word of warning on this…because I hadn’t listened to it in its entirety when I linked to it…but in some of the later files, whoever is reading this keeps referring to God as “her” quite frequently, distorting what Aquinas originally wrote.
 
Catholic Treasures, in Duarte, CA, just put into its catalog the DVD collection of G.K. Chesterton: the Apostle of Common Sense. I saw it when it aired on EWTN, and, I must confess, I became smitten with it. It’s hosted by Dale Alhquist. If you get it, then enjoy. 🙂 😉 👍

Special thanks to Fidelis for posting this in another thread…I’d have never found this! It’s a radio discourse between Tim Staples and Steve Greg, non-Catholic and host of “The Narrow Path”. It took place over 5 days…files are MP3 at 16kbps.

I found a great site with Archbishop Fulton Sheen’s talks in MP3 format which you can listen to online for free. It’s almost like having Bishop Sheen as your personal Catechism instructor!

He explains Catholic teaching in depth, yet makes it very understandable with analogies and short stories of his own experiences . I have found it so helpful in deepening my spiritualal life, bringing me much closer to Christ.

I am considering the purchase of this software and was wondering if anyone was using it or had any experience with it. I realize most of the stuff is available on line for free; however one of the selling points for me is, with the program, you can cross reference everything in a single search. Any opinions based on experience or the link would be appreciated.

I was just at a seminar for Theology of the Body last wkend, and the speaker, who is knowledgeable about resources was asked for a very good one, and he recommended W/CC 4.0.

It sounds like you get a wealth of info, a whole library, for the price. A lot of bang for your buck!

The speaker was Todd Lemieaux; he teaches Catholic HS in Long IS. He was very good! He has a web site, I think, but a quick search under his name didn’t turn up anything.

Pls let us know how you like it (if you decide to get it)!

I got that CD-ROM program as well. It is worth the cost.

I got mine from aquinasandmore.com website. I highly recommend it for anyone who wants a deeper understanding of Catholics. It has History of the Church, Theology of the Body, Catechism, Encyclicals, Church documents, I think it also have Vatican II Documents…
 
I also have it.I don’t think there is another Catholic resouce out there that can touch it,I love it and use it all the time!! 👍

It is impossible for me to overexaggerate the greatness of “Welcome to the Catholic Church”! I use it on an almost daily basis. I find it much easier to navigate through the Catechism and the Bible on WTTCC than online. Plus you get the Summa, Canon Law, Church History, Morality, Lives of the Saints, My Daily Bread (wonderful devotional reading along the lines of “Imitation of Christ”), and more! I particulary enjoy the Catena Aurea, which is a verse by verse commentary on the four Gospels by the Church Fathers!

You can also get online updates. For example, when I first installed it, there were no documents from Benedict XVI, but I installed the updates through their website and now have access to “Deus caritas Est”, his homilies, and more! (though it has been a while since the last update).

The search function is wonderful. Can’t remember what those holy days of obligation are? Type in “holy day of obligation” to the search, narrow it down to only search the Code of Canon Law if you wish. Up pops links to all the pages where the phrase appears (keeping in mind, of course, to put phrases in quotation marks else all the pages pop up where all four of the words appear in any order).

If you are in the field of religious education, this is a must have! Even if its just for your own education or that of your children, it is truly an invaluable tool!

(Alright, can you tell I like this program? :o )
