I’ve been enjoying many of these pod-cast suggestions. Thanks all. 👍

One I’ve been listening to which hasn’t been listed here yet is The Catholic Hack hosted by Joe McClane. He’s done some interesting interviews in the last couple of weeks, including a four part series on the Jehovah’s Witnesses and one with Mark Houck, President of the King’s Men.

Clergy Congregation Takes Bible Online

ROME, DEC. 10, 2007 (Zenit.org).- A Web site launched by the Vatican Congregation for the Clergy allows researchers to access Bible verses with exegesis from doctors of the Church or cross reference liturgical texts with commentaries from Church Fathers.

The site at www.bibliaclerus.org offers six categories in nine languages. It also gives the option of downloading the site’s content.

The nine translations of the Bible, including Hebrew and Greek, can be read side-by-side, as can the Eastern and Latin Codes of Canon Law.

The Congregation for the Clergy announced the Bible site on Dec.8, as it marked the nine-year anniversary of the launching of the dicastery’s Web site at www.clerus.net.

Is there an online audio file of the Vulgate, hopefully with Ecclesiastical Latin pronunciation?

If not, is a CD available?

I’m trying to learn Latin, and along with the study material, I thought it might be good to read the Vulgate while I listen to it being properly pronounced.

I am not aware of any complete collection. But there are a few good starts:
  • GreekLatinAudio.com appears to have most of the New Testament online. I am [post=2538744]on record[/post] being a bit critical of the reader’s pronunciation, but cannot fault him for his dedication providing a resource that I am not willing to do myself.
  • [post=2538507]The Familia Sancti Hieronymi[/post] appears to have the entire New Testament and a good start on the Old Testament (Pentatuch, beginning of the histories) [available on cassette (hieronymus.us) (not CD – I expect the market is just not there)
  • A Google search for [vulgate audio (http://www.google.com/search?q=vulgate+audio&btnG=Google+Search) does turn up a number of other resources.

Hey all,

As some of you know, if you’ve read my threads in the family life section, I am the new principal at our Cathedral school in the Diocese of Jefferson City.

We have been going through many changes over the past year, with regard to safety, instruction, and worship.

The relevance to this forum, however, is that we are doing extensive work to add an apologetics component to our curriculum, including an intense professional development in that area for our staff, and a program for our parents, who receive a weekly newsletter with teachings on the faith, are invited to bi-weekly talks, and are provided with free resources from my office.

We’ve completed nine of these talks now, and the attendance has ranged from 70 - 120 attendees. The first of these is now on our school website (click here). The file is MP3, so it isn’t as quick as a download as something in, say, Realplayer. Make sure to scroll down when you arrive there. You might also be interested in the text for our instructional mass, which is linked to on the same page. The students seemed to get a lot out of it, and we have had great response from others in the parish community, to whom it has been made available. In addition, the links page has many great Catholic resources.

I hope you find the talk useful, was well as the other resources at our site. We are trying our best to arm these future members of the Church militant, as well as their parents, the first heralds of Christ for these young men and women. If you have any other ideas for strengthening our program, please let me know through this forum or pm.

For those who listen, by the way, this first talk is all me. After that, the next one (which isn’t yet up) is done by our associate pastor, Fr. Shetler. From there we tend to tag-team, with him presenting the deeper theology and me presenting the practical apologetics. Our goal is to get them all on the website, adding one every couple weeks or so.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but can anyone tell me how/if files in an MP3 format can be downloaded onto itunes?
New to Apple and itunes, but would like to burn some CD’s of these MP3 files using a Mac…?🤷
