For those of you not on John Martignoni’s e-mail blast, I thought I’d mention something he wrote about a few weeks ago. It’s a Bible Study/Apologetics tool for your PDA. If you’ve got a Palm device or something running Windows Mobile 5, and you’re an armchair apologist like me, this is one of those don’t-really-need-it-but-it’s-really-cool-to-have things that could be very helpful. Particularly if you’re like me and have long-ish commutes on public transportation.

This guy has developed 44 pages of talking points, commentary, etc., for various Catholic apologetics issues: Baptism, Purgatory, Church, even Jehovah’s Witnesses. All you do is call up your Bible on your PDA, click on a bookmark to particular verse, and then you’ve got some helpful commentary right there underneath the scripture.
Cost: $10. You can download a copy of the entire Bible for free, but I wanted a digital version of my well-highlighted Catholic Study Bible. It cost me about $30.
Let’s say you’re out with friends. Someone says the Church is wrong to Baptize infants. “Well,” you say, “Let’s examine some scripture verses…” Then, you call up your handly list of bookmarked verses pertaining to baptism, and then the fun begins!
Now, practically speaking, it’s an inferior method to actually knowing the Bible inside and out, but it’s a great learning/teaching tool, potentially. I finally got it up and running this morning, and I can see how this will be very helpful for both my apologetics “work” and 8th grade CCD class.
If you’re a hyper-techno-geek like me, this is a must have. All your apologetics notes (you can add tons more), AND the scripture right there in your PDA.
