Hi CAF. I don’t know if this is in the right forum. I uploaded 2 videos about the “Origins of the Authority of the Catholic Church” parts 1 and 2. Please feel free to check them out, and let me know if these have any Doctrine, Moral or Spelling errors so that I can make adjustments if necessary.

Poison 7:2–If you were to ask pope pius XII Mar. 2, 1939 - Oct. 9, 1958, where he received his information regarding rules and regulations for catholics, or how was this information coming to him, he would have pulled out a King Kong sized syringe of poison and proceeds to spew “god told me” and you would have eaten up. If you still would eat it up, the poison is still affecting you. Please do not reproduce until you wake from the delusion. I would suggest learning biology, embryology, physics, fractal geometry, cosmology, (NOT pseudo scince astrology), and a few other intelligent sciences for fastest and best results 🙂

DUH 7:50–Which classroom is more beneficial and overall more nutritious for a young curious, easily inspired mind? The teacher in class "1 asks the head priest/pastor/clown at the school "I am teaching the seventh grade about temporal punishment due to sin. One of the students asked if anyone can go straight to heaven after dying since we all need to atone for the temporal punishment. What do I say? forums.catholic-questions.org/showthread.php?t=727515. In class #2 the Science teacher asks Google “Government and university information regarding evolution” Class #1 not only had an inept teacher, she said “what do I say”, you should say the truth DUH. Isnt that what people who are lying ask? A sincere person would ask something like this, “Whats the answer”, “what does the bible say about it”, or “whats the churches stance”, "Thats a poker tell. Her logic and reason tell her the holy binky is a statistical improbability. Her inability to possess other skills to earn a living, is the only reason she is there 🙂

WISHES 3:7–We just need to raise our conciousness. Just a simple small step, and all agree that questioning the origins of human life becasue of our current scientific knowledge is NOT somehow inherintley wrong, or rude, or offensive in any way just because those truths contradict words in a holy book. Once we all agree on that, we will begin to embrace the beautiful truths and explanations for the complexity of life and ultimitley have the conciousness to let go of the dull lazy answers that “god did it”, “its gods will”, “its gods way of testing us” “It says so in my holy binky” 🙂

Hi everyone,

I have a blog about the Lectionary that people might be interested in. At the moment, I have compiled a PDF table of the chants and readings in the 1962 Missal (EF), organised by time and season, in order to help make comparisons between the EF and OF lectionaries a bit easier! There will be more resources coming, such as a scriptural index of the EF chants/readings, as and when I have the time to finish them off - it does take some time to organise that much information! 🙂

There are also links to electronic resources such as e-books, papers, blogs, etc., that are useful for further study in the Lectionary. I may also post some book reviews of relevant books as well.

What is apologetics anyway? You hear this word all the time in the religious world from talking about men like William Lane Craig or Ravi Zacharias. These men are Christian apologists. Then there are individual religious group apologists. Like we Catholics have our very own Tim Staples or Karl Keating. These are Catholic apologists. But, let’s return to the topic, what is apologetics?

Apologetics comes from the Greek word, άπολογία, which means a verbal defense. In apologetics, we provide a verbal defense for something. In our case, a verbal defense for our faith in Christ and in His Church: The Catholic Church. Using logical arguments alongside Sacred Scripture, Sacred Tradition, and Church history we can defend the Catholic faith against the myriad of assaults it undergoes on a daily basis from people of all walks of life.

The question now turns to how are WE supposed to defend the faith. It’s one thing to memorize verses to be able to regurgitate at a moments notice but that is not enough. We need to be well versed in the Holy Bible and, more than that, be able to explain Scriptures to people. A prominent Chilean priest who was ordered by the Vatican to never again celebrate a public Mass as punishment for sexually abusing altar boys has been photographed apparently defying the order.

Chile’s top church leaders confirmed the Rev. Fernando Karadima’s act of insubordination Friday and sent the case to the Vatican for investigation. The photos were taken Dec. 4, but they were only released this week by Juan Carlos Cruz, a journalist and one of Karadima’s victims.

“It’s a very painful situation that shows that this priest continues to do as he pleases,” Cruz told The Associated Press. “It’s a slap in the face for the victims of his abuse. He should be in jail but instead he’s still being protected by the church.”

The Roman Catholic Church retains a firm grip on Chilean society, although in recent years its influence has waned after scandals in which priests have been accused of molesting children. Victims say Karadima began abusing them at his residence at the Sacred Heart of Jesus church in Santiago about 20 years ago, when they were between 14 and 17 years old.

The Vatican sanctioned Karadima by ordering him to a life of “penitence and prayer” in 2011. He was also barred from celebrating Mass in public, from hearing confessions or offering spiritual direction and from having contact with his ex-parishioners. A Chilean judge later dismissed a criminal case because the statute of limitations had expired, but she determined the abuse allegations were truthful.

The timing of the photos’ release appeared aimed at embarrassing both the current and former archbishops of Santiago, who were in Rome for Saturday’s ceremony to name current Archbishop Ricardo Ezzati Andrello a cardinal.

The victims in Chile say the retired archbishop, Cardinal Francisco Javier Errazuriz, failed to act on accusations that they were abused by Karadima, who was long one of the country’s most popular priests. They say the cardinal declined to even meet them.

The sentence Karadima received is one often used for elderly priests who sexually abused children years ago: Rather than subject the priests and victims to a lengthy church trial, which might not end before the priest in question dies, the Vatican can impose an administrative sanction such as the one Karadima received, which essentially renders the man a priest in name only.

The same sentence was handed down against the notorious Rev. Marcial Maciel, founder of the Legion of Christ religious order, who sexually abused his seminarians.

Under then-Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, the Vatican streamlined its procedures to allow for such swifter, administrative sanctions to punish priests when the evidence against them is overwhelming.
