That, and all these posts, just show how there have been ignorant and/or hateful people throughout history that will use unfortunate events to cast suspicion, distrust and worse on groups the view as ‘wrong’.
 
hmm… I wonder if pope benidect actually played the dark sith as a side job while he was a priest? He does resemble the sith lord. Maybe starwars was his spoiler alert…😃
 
The Anti Christ? I thought it was all Catholics who were waiting on the word from the Vatican to start killing protestants and that is why they have the name of every protestant stored on a computer. LOL
 
The Donation of Constantine is a good one. I believe there’s even a painting depicting it in the Vatican Museum.
My favorite is the abdication of Celestine V. Supposedly, his successor Boniface VIII (happily planted in Dante’s hell) had speaking tubes secretly inserted in hapless Celestine’s papal bedroom and piped subliminal messages telling him “this is God and I command you to resign the papacy.” Celestine did resign and, to make sure it stuck, Boniface kept the old man under house arrest for the rest of his life.

When I was a child I heard so many conspiracy theories about how the Catholic Church was in an evil conspiracy that I tend to not believe in them.

Occam’s razor. He smoked like a chimney. So did my dad, who died at 58 because of it. It’ll either kill you through cancer, cardiovascular or emphysema. JP I died of a heart attack.
 
Oh, I agree. I said ‘some say’ not ‘I think’

However, it’s fun to troll more liberal Catholics and say (with a grin) ‘JPI was killed by the Jesuits to save Vatican 2’

Not really, the KofC is a fraternal benefit society- established in the days before social security and workmen’s comp, marketed to people who needed the protection but whom commercial insurance outfits didn’t want to deal with as they were immigrants working hazardous jobs.
 
That’s why I put it in quotes haha. I don’t believe it at all.

The most dangerous thing about the KofC is the high cholesterol their fried fish can cause 😂😂
