Except I don’t buy that you are. You don’t seem to know who Mallory is. Sorry, I’ve been on the internet a quarter century and seen my share of empty bluster, and you sir are demonstrating it in spades. I have given you probably the best introductory reference, now educate yourself, or not, but know one thing, I see right through your chest thumping
Great so you are up for a challenge… then IF I asked you questions from JPM’s work you should be able to answer it right… So do you accept? These would be directly from his work.??? I know you did not read it because you make a very big mistake. Instead of actually reading the book … you copied what someone said somewhere… I actually have the book LOLLOL I just needed you to dig a big enough hole 🙂 first

I have given you reference to an introductory work by one of the foremost modern linguists. As i said, accept it or not, but I simply do not believe how you present yourself at all

So now you do not want to answer questions right out of JPMs introductory work… LOL LOL LOL FRAUD! When you first brought up Deus Pater I did not clue on because for me Deus Pater meant something else. When you mentioned Mallory, that is when I clued into where this was going. 🙂 That is when I realized you were just another fraud. LOL LOL

" The phrase sola scriptura is from the Latin: sola having the idea of “alone,” “ground,” “base,” and the word scriptura meaning “writings”—referring to the Scriptures. Sola scriptura means that Scripture alone is authoritative for the faith and practice of the Christian. The Bible is complete, authoritative, and true."

If you are not a Sola Scriptura adherent, (as you openly testified) Then I have a question for you.

From where does the Catholic Church get its authority?

Catholic Church received its authority from Christ when he gave Peter to authority to bind and loosen. The Church is the pillar and the ground of the faith. Not the bible.

Was there a bible Paul was preaching from? Was there a bible Andrew was preaching from? Or Philip? Or Thomas…

We could start with chapter 25 “Comparative Mythology” on page 423, in particular Section 23.1 Deities.

Like I said, if you were actually the least bit familiar with the topic, you would know that. As usual those quickest to point the finger should point it at themselves.

You may believe that it is stupid that Constantine started from scratch the Catholic Church
Please quote where you believe I said that?
I believe I said that it is silly to attempt a serious debate over the proposition that today’s Catholic Church was wholly founded and invented by Constantine around 300AD.
It makes me scratch my head that you do not know what is meant by Catholicism??? The standard definition is “the faith, practice, and church order of the Roman Catholic Church.”
Good luck with that definition working the same in Jesus’s time, Paul’s time, Ignatius of Antioch’s time, Constantine’s time, the time of the great Schism, the time of the Reformists and finally today.

Why do we not start where you started with you silliness, because that is the question germane to topic… so do you want to copy and past the paragraph on Dyeus … go ahead because this is more germane to the issue… (Chapter 25???) what are you reading??? Chapter 5 which is pertinent to your assertions … 🙂

Just the para which he claims nonconfidence in what you claimed 🙂 lets start there. Also you will have to give me time to type as I have to type from a book and I do not type too fast.

But EGW founded SDA right… I mean much of her writings make up for the bulk of the SDA understanding.

However, in the same vein one cannot say Constantine founded Catholicism as there is no doctrinal change from before and after his reign. Because of a council we were able to define some doctrines better but these doctrines existed prior to Constantine

“Was there a bible Paul was preaching from? Was there a bible Andrew was preaching from? Or Philip? Or Thomas…”

Absolutely. Its called the Old Testament. It is referred to over and over again by all of the Apostles.

And, assuming this is true, how do you know that the Catholic Church received its authority from Jesus Christ?

You know, I didnt direct that question toward you, but since you answered -

You said The Catholic Church received its authority from Christ when he gave Peter to authority to bind and loosen.

Where do you find this tid bit of information?

Can’t help but feeling that you know the answer already.

If you really do not know and thus the reason you asked, the answer is Peter. Jesus built his Church (Catholic Church) upon Peter. He then singularly and specifically gave the Key to heaven to him, and the authority to bind and to loose.

Since apostleship is an office (Judas was replaced by Mathias), therefore the office of Peter was perpetuated by his successors up to the present Pope.

It is Scriptural and Traditional.

Really, I still have not received the answer. Lets put it this way - where is the evidence of the statement:

“The Catholic Church received its authority from Christ when he gave Peter the authority to bind and loosen”.

I am not looking for a statement of your belief. I am looking for the evidence upon which you build that statement of faith.

Thank You.

Evidence is all over the place, it’s has been beaten to death. Scripturally, Traditionally and historically. Are you trolling or what? If you disagree, which you are, then just rebut them.

  1. The Catholic Church has informed me.
    a. The Catholic Church teaches this in Sacred Tradition.
    b. The Catholic Church has recorded this in the New Testament Scriptures.
  2. It is also taught in some historical materials.
