I’m praying for you to not feel so overwhelmed, newcatholicwife.

I just wanted to also say that you can more than likely take some kind of action to help with your husband’s citizenship status. I would think that simply by virtue of you being married to him that he must have some sort of automatic residency rights. You didn’t mention if you’re American, but I believe in this country the laws are more or less along those lines. Feel free to private message me; maybe I can help figure out at least the initial steps in the residency/citizenship process. And, again, I will be praying for you.
Thank you so much 🙂 yes we are seeing a laywer soon. The thing is we may have tp live in Mexico for some time. I pray everything will work for the best.

Praying.

I also have social anxiety and I find that sometimes you have to force yourself to do things you don’t want to, and then you have panic attacks and tears later, but you end up killing the anxiety bit by bit as you enter painful situations and slowly develop the ability to deal with people. I’m still working on it, but I encourage to find small ways to confront your fears and douse your deeds with prayer and contemplation. Be prepared and think about what you will do if this or that happens, how will you react and what will you think. And focus on God. It makes me anxious just to tell you this because I’m afraid it will be counterproductive and not helpful at all. But, I’m telling you anyway. Perhaps this can serve as an example for you then.
Thank you, God bless you. 🙂 Thats interesting the last part you said about not knowing if what youre saying is helpful or hurtful. It is very helpful but it seems you care so much about others it turns into an intense filter and fear of hurting others. I do the same thing! I have a constant fear of hurting others. I didnt know this was part of social anxiety, but it makes a lot of sense! I feel this much more than shyness. Thank you for your words and prayers 🙂

My heart goes out to you. I know exactly how it feels like. What you need to do is deepen your faith and relationship with GOD. Cast to HIM all your burdens and HE will give you rest.

Some people do not like to take meds therefore the best thing for you to do is to practice what is called a Cognitive Behavior Therapy or CBT. It is a process wherein you are trained to react and think logically. Talk as much as you can with other people so you will have a diversion. Don’t put yourself into seclusion.

You can also make yourself busy. Look around you and find something productive to do. This forum will help a lot in expressing what you really feel. I also have a website which you might want to look at www.panicbuster.net. I have some information there that you might want to read.

I know you’re a strong person. Always pray.

I am overwhelmed and breathe anxiety as air. Always haunted by the possibility of my dad having huntingtons disease, my moms severe mental health disorder and severe kidney problems… being an only child not knowing how to care for them. Also newly married to the most wonderful husband but who is also an undocumented immigrant. Severe social anxiety, very likely depression but fear of psycholigists (dont want meds) and isolated myself from friends and family. Mostly because of anxiety and also fear of them finding out my husbands legal status. Constant scrupolosity, guilt, and confusion at how I should live my life. Either I neglect all my needs to fully take care of others or completely withdraw to heal myself. Also even though I have the best husband I struggle constantly with jealousy and feelig like Im not good enough for him. I want children for us someday but so scared if it were to happen now because of everything above. I am just going back to school while hubby works 30 hrs as cook. I feel like the devil plays my anxiety as a puppet. Ill pray and feel peace then two hours later forget and get paralyzed in fear and guilt. Please please help :’(

St. Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou,
O Prince of the heavenly hosts,
by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan,
and all the evil spirits,
who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls.

Amen.
Sept. 29th is Michaelmas
Feast

Praying that the Lord may strengthen you and grant you relief from anxiety. Also praying for all necessary graces for you.

O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You!
