stltoday.com/news/local/govt-and-politics/kander-quashing-speculation-sends-fundraisinMcCaskill may feel like she needs to catch up.
McCaskill has not officially announced she is running again, but says she will. She is doing many things showing she is building a campaign before the official announcement. She tweeted Monday that she had 1,255 people donate to her campaign on Saturday.
Rep. Ann Wagner, R-Ballwin, who has been mentioned among several potential Republican opponents to McCaskill in 2018, ended last year with more the twice the amount of money in her campaign account as McCaskill. Wagner, and other Republican members of the Missouri congressional delegation, have not yet announced their plans for 2018
If your Senator is up for re-election in 2018 make sure you contact them and let them know you expect them to vote pro-life.

Sounds like my neck of the woods in California. I keep writing for principle’s sake but frankly don’t expect anything from them anymore other than that they will vote against Church teachings. They are consistent on that.
I live in KY and to be honest, I used to think the same thing…whats the point, when you are likely to only get a generic reply letter, letting you know they will take your opinions into consideration when voting.

However when i wrote to Mitch McConnell about another issue, I was fully expecting a generic reply letter or no reply at all, but I actually got a personal phone call, It went to voicemail, but he DID call me back and his reply was not generic or vague at all, his response was curious to say the least.

If Democrats are to have any hope of taking control of the Senate in the 2018 midterms, they need to cling to every red state seat they possess. And they have a lot: 10 are up for re-election next year, with Manchin’s being the reddest of them all.
We also know from the 2014 midterm election results that red state Democrats, even those with deep roots in their states, take a big risk if they vote the party line too much. Mark Pryor of Arkansas and Mary Landrieu of Louisiana, both long-time senators with family names synonymous with their state’s politics, were easily defeated after advertising barrages tarred them with voting on the side of Obama more than 90 percent of the time.
They need to know we are awake out here.

bec it was so extremely liberal.

I’ve been very active in the pro-life movement in my state. Our

IS SCHUMER FAKING ON FILIBUSTER?
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer says he is ready to rumble over the nomination of Judge Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court.
What we don’t know yet, is whether this is savvy posturing or a desperate act by insecurity. Schumer’s announcement today that he would vote against allowing a final vote on Gorsuch’s nomination accelerated an already perilous game of chicken for Senate Democrats…
Senate leaders sometimes choose to vote with doomed causes for the sake of placating hardliners and preserving future options. Imagine if Schumer knew that at least eight Democrats were going to allow Gorsuch to proceed to a final vote and decided he would take a hardline stance for the sake of appearances.

Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., said Thursday that he would not join a Democratic filibuster of President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, Neil Gorsuch, arguing that the integrity of the Senate needs to be preserved.
Hmmmm… he’s up for election in '18.

Just my opinion but Schumer knows he doesn’t have the votes and is just posturing.

Please contact your US senator and left them know you expect them to vote pro life!!!

ndgop.org/heitkamp-votes-to-end-filibuster/
In a blatantly partisan power grab yesterday, Senator Heidi Heitkamp voted with the Democratic Senate Majority to drastically change Senate rules and eliminate the minority party’s ability to filibuster.
I don’t see a date on this story. I guess back in the day Heitkamp though it was OK the get rid of the filibuster.

Hmmmmm…will she see it the same way when tables are turned?

Remember, she up for election in less then two years. How bad does she want to keep that seat?

Democratic vote counters are confident they have more than the 40 votes needed to sustain a filibuster, at least for a time.
Democrats already set the precedent for changing the rules in 2013, when they voted to require only a simple majority to confirm all presidential appointments other than Supreme Court justices. At the time, Republicans protested, but Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky has strongly hinted he would follow suit if needed to get Gorsuch confirmed.
