Contemporary Doesn't Have to Be Bad

Here’s a link to the church where I attend Mass when I go to visit my brother and his family. It is Christ the King, on Preston Road, in Dallas, Texas. It was built in the 1950’s, and is, again, art deco. I think that the best contemporary churches are the ones that draw on liturgical architecture’s history and antecedants. This is, I think, a good example:

Contemporary doesn’t have to be bad, but it usually is. Architects’ and clients’ fault :(.
 
I attended a TLM, during Lent, a few years back, at Shrine in Royal Oak. Not sure if they’ve had one there since.

Actually that’s not bad in itself. But if I saw something like that in a Church and in that atmosphere, I wouldn’t be surprised if 4-5 people were to pop out of it and sing “Halle-halle-halle-loooo-ya.” :eek::eek::eek:
