I would ask you offer up additional prayers for my friend Araya, only fourteen years of age, who, mere months ago, was taken from her violently abusive father and put in what sounds like a wonderful foster home.

She is struggling with all the challenges of a fourteen year old, including making the transition to high school.

But on top of that, she is going through court hearing after court hearing, with no end in site. Mostly for the conviction of her father, who is facing multiple counts of child rape and molestation, but also because her biological mother who abandon her as a small child, is now fighting for custody of her, something she is terrified of happening.

…She continues to struggle with self inflicted injury and poor self esteem. She was doing good for a while but has told me she’s started cutting herself again.

Also, she just found out she will likely never be able to have children. As the repeated rapes by her father at such an early age have caused significant damage to her ovaries.

Please pray for her, that she may reach a point where she can finally live like a normal child.

Lord, please protect Araya from harm and from people who hurt her. May she have eyes to see her dignity as a child of Yours and may she know that she has a beautiful mother in heaven, our mother Mary, to be her advocate and intercessor in times of need and at every moment. Grant her a proper understanding of her faith and may she be healed of her pain and affliction by turning to You. Please put some person in her life to befriend her and to be her mentor, so that she may grow up into the woman of God You want her to be, knowing Your love and receiving it abundantly in so many different, good, and profound ways. Grant her hope, Lord, and help her to place her confidence in You. Amen.

My God, My God … how this news sickens and saddens me. Lord have mercy. I lift up to you in prayer, Araya. Please Lord … whatever you can do to ease this person’s suffering, please do it. Please Lord … have mercy. Mother Mary please pray for this dear child and protect her. In Jesus name. Amen.
