Thanks for sharing that prayer!!As a mental health professional who work with patients diagnosed with Schizophrenia on a daily basis, I am becoming increasingly convinced of the spiritual nature of their affliction. It’s unbearable to watch helplessly while they experience excruciating mental anguish as they report persistent auditory, visual, and command hallucinations of ‘demons’ as they call them. These supposed entities that they see and hear attempt to terrify them, beleaguer them, torture them with words that incite shame and guilt, command them to hurt themselves, and others. I’ve noticed how the majority of the hallucinations of those with Schizophrenia, are centered on ‘angels’, ‘demons’, and ‘Satan’. Most of them are obsessed with religion because of these negative experiences.
The scientific world would scoff if they were asked to even hypothesize that these patients may be experiencing real entities, but I don’t think it’s that scoff-worthy. I think the tunnel vision of the scientific community regarding supernatural phenomenon is scoff-worthy. Irmak’s article is the only one that I’ve come across that has been brave enough to at least broach this subject with regard to Schizophrenia: link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s10943-012-9673-y/fulltext.html
I’ve come across a powerful prayer that I pray at home for those I work with. I encourage you to pray this for those who are in mental anguish.

I also read the Springer article and then came across this as part of another news article from the Catholic News Agency: “Kathryn Kase, one of Panetti’s lawyers, has said the inmate believes he is being punished as part of a satanic conspiracy to prevent him from preaching the Gospel on death row.”.
