Hi, I have been looking for some ways to continue my education. I would love to go back to school and get a BA or even MA is Theology, but I can’t afford that right now. I remember stumbling upon a school that offered certificates for in Theology that were fairly inexpensive. You could take their courses either for continuing education certs, or just to grow in your faith. Alas, I can no long find the school that was offering that.

I have been involved in the Catholic Evangelization (speaking, retreat coordinating, youth ministry, etc) and would like to continue to grow my own faith and knowledge of it so that I can more adequately evangelize to the teens and people that I encounter in my ministry.

Does anyone have any suggestions that would help me in my desire to grow in my faith and to continue my evangelization “career” with further education?

Talk to your Diocese! I know that one can get low cost theology degrees through my Diocese, I am sure they are not alone.

No. I don’t know of any specific low cost programs that you are looking for. I think the idea of contacting your diocesan office is the best route.

Your goals are ambitious and completing a degree program will undoubtedly cost something significant. I think there’s a long distance training available from catholic distance university.

If you just want to grow in your faith and don’t need a degree for the job you are after, then you can visit my website because I made it for people just like you. It won’t cost you anything but your time for reading and studying. It has plenty of useful resources, charts, etc. It is still under construction, but I have many pages finished already, and I update it once a month. Please check it out.

I posted this earlier but it was deleted by the CAModerator because it is against CA policy to put a personal link in my post. But, if you want to see my website, just click on my username above and you’ll be able to find a link to my website right there. O by the way, it is best to view in on a computer. It was not yet configured for mobile devices, iphones and tablets

Have you tried the Institute of Catholic Culture? They do not offer a degree program but offer free Catholic Education. They have over 800 hours of archived videos on apologetics, evangelization, history, theology, liturgy, Bible study, free webinars and the list goes on and on. Classes are taught by world class theologians, priests, bishops etc. Hope this helps.
