So. I need concrete, hard, factual resources that point to the Church’s teaching in the following scenario:

A woman taking birth control in order to prevent ovarian cysts from rupturing.

I’d like to keep opinions and self proclamations off this thread, and if you could, please provide a direct link in your response to your information. Thank you.

You aren’t going to find what you are looking for. The church hasn’t declared the teaching for that exact scenario. A woman may certainly take medication to treat a medical illness.

A woman with questions should start with her priest and then if need be go to the diocese for guidance. She may also ask the NCBC for assistance.

Agreed.
The Church has clear moral theology principles relating to this question - it does not have a big book of all possible concrete cases.

In the case you mentioned no “contraceptive act” is taking place (unless it can be shown there are other non-contraceptive forms of medication that could reasonably be used).

Certainly in the moral realm ncbcenter.org/ are experts and one can call for a consult.

(But also – one will need to look to the side effect of such - and note if one is having relations -that is of concern…due to the potential abortive effect).

I highly recommend you Contact the Paul VI institute -they are the experts. Other doctors miss what they know and can treat.

They have doctors all over the place…

My daughter has stage 4 endometriosis and spoke with 2 priests at different times about this exact question. Both reassured her that she is not sinning when using this medication to help prevent a third surgery and possible infertility in the future. 🙂
