Contraception is wrong because it’s a deliberate violation of the design God built into the human race, often referred to as “natural law.” The natural law purpose of sex is procreation. The pleasure that sexual intercourse provides is an additional blessing from God, intended to offer the possibility of new life while strengthening the bond of intimacy, respect, and love between husband and wife. The loving environment this bond creates is the perfect setting for nurturing children.
But sexual pleasure within marriage becomes unnatural, and even harmful to the spouses, when it is used in a way that deliberately excludes the basic purpose of sex, which is procreation. God’s gift of the sex act, along with its pleasure and intimacy, must not be abused by deliberately frustrating its natural end—procreation.
Hope that helps!

Marriage is divine revelation’s figure of Christ’s relationship to His bride, the Church. So did Jesus give all of Himself in union with His bride? Or does He withhold part of Himself (i.e. like someone would their fertility in contraception)? Answer:

Spouses are to give all of themselves and not withhold their fertility, otherwise they spit in the face of the figure of marriage for Christ and His Church.

I hope your workplace has not become one where these questions hang in the balance during your work day. My goodness, what is this world coming to?

I said it was harmfull to women. And he asked what about it alowing women now to be in control of their body? So I said they really are not in control at all. That’s what nfp is for!

Also, other than the moral problems, there are also studies to strongly suggest that contraception is wrong. Couples that use only NFP as a method for spacing children or not having more children than they can afford, rather than artificial birth control, have significantly lower divorce rates compared to those who do not use only-NFP. One study said NFP-only has a <5% divorce rate, another said <2%. This shows that, even if you’re not religious, contraception and marriage do not work well together. 👍

Contraception is harmful to women, particularly some women depending on age and if they are smokers.

I am not understanding the rest of what you posted.

The topic certainly deserves a more serious treatment than a snappy combeback one-liner.

And, is the office the best place to attempt to tackle the morality of contraception? Especially when you don’t seem to have the time to devote to it?

You can do better than that.

C’mon cut the guy a break. Help him out. 🤷

These things “come up” when they come up and need to be handled then. 👍

You shouldn’t be struggling with contraception at work. I’m just sayin :D.

BECAUSE CHRIST’S CHURCH SAYS SO, and that’s good enough for me.

It astounds me how such personal topics just “come up” in the workplace. People have no decorum.

If it is someone with whom the OP has a friendship relationship, that person should be open to the idea that getting together after work, over coffe or something, when the subject can be given its due attention.

One does not have to “handle right then” a conversaion on contraception at the copy machine in 5 minutes or less.

Maybe the person is trying to talk their spouse out of using contraception, and is worried about their health.

No matter how you slice it, I agree with you that this is not a five minutes or less topic and should be taken outside of the workplace. No one should get paid to talk about it, or waste their lunch or break time over such things.

Not to mention the potential litigation that can ensue over these things if an employee feels that the conversation has created a hostile workplace enviornment.

Jeepers. Can get ugly, who wants that?

Well, you’re probably not at work now, but I will give you a quick one-liner.

Is bulimia wrong? [if you don’t know what it is, that’s where a person (usually a girl) eats, and then goes to the bathroom and sticks her finger down her throat to make herself throw up, thus regurgitating what she just ate, helping her to be thin].

Medical science unanimously considers bulimia a serious eating disorder. Many die from the effects of bulimia (including rich and famous people such as Karen Carpenter - a wealthy woman who died of organ failure brought on by starvation. It is ironic that a wealthy person dies from starvation.

Bulimia attempts to separate the act from the consequences. Contraception is reproductive bulimia.
