Makes perfect sense to me. I had 2 c sections, and gestational diabetes. It was recommended that I not have more children. I had my appendix out in my 6 month of pregnancy with my son. When i had my daughter 21 months later, the doctor had a heart to heart talk with me… I could not take the pill because it messed with my head. So we used an alternative method. Five years down the road…after my husband has a vasectomy…I thought I was pregnant in March of 91. Abortiona was absolutely out of the question. Turns out I had a perfectly semetrical fibroid tumor in my uterus. The doctor gave me two choices, 1- he could scrape it out with the possiblity of it growing back or 2- I could have a hystercomy (leave the ovaries) and end that possiblity. Needles to say my husband wasn’t thrilled after going through his “surgery” the prior November. I opted for the hysterectomy…and haven’t looked back.

Now…did you all know that in coming years, it will part of all females mandatory shots starting at age 11 to receive the Gardasil innoculation to prevent HPV? Yessereee…it has been discovered that the HPV is caused from sexual activity and multiple partners. Although a virgin who has been with a man or visa versa (woman)…can get HPV (if she or he has been with someone who has it) which can lead to cervical cancer> the cost of the shot is 800 dollars. My daughter (age 21) will be getting the shot. And the doctor informed us it will be mandatory for all females age 10-11 as a routine.

I truly believe this is a wake up call for pre martial bed hopping and extra marital bed hopping.
I think you daughter is too old for the shot…from what I have read it is for the very young kids…also it is not one shot but several shots…

Yes, there are certain types of HPV that infect the genitals. Genital HPV is spread through sexual contact. Just clarifying that not all HPV strains are sexually acquired. 🙂

This is unfortunate.

I used contraceptives and prescribed them. I discontinued using for a number of reasons but continued prescribing. After I experienced my reversion, I stopped prescribing too.

Spacing or limiting the number of children has gotten confused with using contraception here. Using contraception doesn’t necessarily mean there will be no more children. I know this from my own and many other’s experiences. The pressure to abort after becoming pregnant while using contraceptives can be phenomenal. I have known women who have become pregnant while using almost everything, including tubal ligation. I wish I had done it the Church’s way, but it was not presented to me when I came into the Church. Thank God I did not have an abortion, but I can understand most of the feelings that women have.
Tell me about it after #3, #4 (this one was the worse) and # 5 the pressure to have a tubal was unreal. (I didn’t do it) With # 4 he was the long awaited son with this the Doctor suggested now I have my boy isn’t about time to stop:rolleyes: even neighbors (got to love the Bible Belters). They say Catholics get involved in your “bedroom business” but I find “the others” don’t know how to keep their nose out of my personal business;)

Absolutely! When I was pregnant with #4, the disapproving looks and remarks about “overpopulation” came relentlessly. Not to mention how abortion would be all right for me “In this case”.This was in the late '70’s. Now we are hearing about the depopulation of Europe and how Islam may get a footing because of demographics.
