Hello. I was looking at the translations between the Septuagint and the other versions of the Bible. What I found is that, mostly in Genesis, there were some numerical errors contrary to other versions of the Bible, even in the Latin Vulgate. Here are some examples:
In adittion, there is a website that has a list of it: Lay it to Heart - The Septuagint is Incorrect
God bless.
Here we can see Adam has lived 700 years after birth of Seth. But, even in the Latin Vulgate, we see that Adam lived 800 years:And the days of Adam, which he lived after his begetting Seth, were seven hundred years; and he begot sons and daughters(Genesis 5:4, LXX).
There are also other translations which exactly writes “eight hundred years” as well. But, why is there a contradiction? Or, is it a contradiction? What is the reason behind we see in here? And the days of Adam, after he begot Seth, were eight hundred years: and he begot sons and daughters(Genesis 5:4, Douay-Rheims Bible).
