I came across this website after debating with a man who claims the last two Popes, Blessed Pope John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI were of Jewish lineage, and that the Jews are trying to take over the Church.

Is this an actual and okay belief among some Catholics?
 
The internet is the source of so many rumors, lies, and fantasy. Even the news is difficult to trust.

Dang! Do you know what I just discovered? I discovered that the first Pope was a Jew too, can you believe that? It gets even more intriguing, the guy that ordained him was a Jew too. :eek:

I bet that now we will have to start reading some Jewish books about how them Jews were freed from Egypt etc. :eek:

I better let my Jewish Orthodox friend know this. He told me to keep him apprised of such developments and I always obey. 😉

It’s a belief among anti-Semitic folks, who may or may not be individually Catholic.

Jews started the Church;), but I wouldn’t be worried about them taking over.

I was educated by Jack Chick that the Jesuit general is often called the “black Pope”. Then again, they also claimed that the KKK was a duped servant of the Vatican:rolleyes:

Seriously though, sooner or later it’s gonna happen. Why not a Latino Pope too? Or both in sucession…

Well as a Catholic who has practiced Judaism and was considered Jewish due to Jewish law, I am glad that this anti-Jewish view is a minority 🙂

Genetically, North Africa has basically been the same since it has been first occupied. Also, the potraits of these three Popes show them with the typical features of those peoples. We will one day have a black pope but we can not make up a past that never did exist.

Benedict XVI of Jewish lineage. Because we all know that the Germans were just clamoring to conscript those of Jewish lineage into the Hitler youth…

Whoever put that blog up is crackpot, and nothing more. :whacky:
