I am a new member to the forum but going through a difficult situation. Any help/prayers would be greatly appreciated. So my wife and I who were both raised Catholic but not really practicing were married by a Justice of the Peace 10 years ago. We have 2 great children who we got baptized. Until recently, I did not fully understand the importance of a wedding within the church. I want to become a practicing Catholic. I want our children to start Sunday school and get Reconciliation and the Eucharist. Now I want to have our marriage Convalidated. My wife does not. I do not want to divorce her or anything. I am trying to do whatever we can to work around it. I said to that to my wife “that we are living in sin” and that is part of the reason she is upset and does not want the Convalidation now. She feels like the past 10 years in my eyes were a mistake. I could have done a better job easing all of this into her. It was definitely extreme. Part of the reason is the issue is the intimacy issues. Would be ok to continue to be intimate to show her that I still love her to try to get onboard for the Convalidation?? Or just being intimate and just pray for the best??? Thanks
