Convent life for permanent residency

Hi I’m looking into living in a convent I would contribute to the running of the convent in as much as cleaning does anyone know of any convents that accept permanent residency

Cloistered orders generally cannot have permanent outsiders living within. It is against the rule of the monastic orders.

I am curious why you would consider doing this, and why you would not just join the order?
